darin3
Just heard about this on ESPN. They made a good point... Tony Gonzalez used to do the same thing with the Chiefs. Johnson knows his NFL days are numbered and wants a championship. Or at least to make a playoff run. Can't blame him. Will it happen? It could. I think the Texans may think they have an outside chance at the playoffs so trading their #1 WR may not make much sense. But they have a run game to lean on and an emerging stud in DeAndre Hopkins. If a team was willing to give up a lot of value, maybe they'd bite.
robotpimp
He needs to be willing, publicly, to take less money. No one is giving up a high pick and paying him $10mil. If the pick isnt high enough, hou won't bother. This smells like a hold out that winds up costing andre a pulled hamstring in preseason game three... and misses four games before tweaking again. 30 catches, 400 yards, 3 tds LOL... no doubt!
flemingd
Wow jump the gun much? It's just blustering at this point. He'll show, because that's the kind of guy he is and he's smart enough to know you don't get what you want in today's NFL by throwing a tantrum. If he really wants out, he needs to give the team as much trade leverage as possible. He's not important enough that they can't live without him, and he has zero leverage if he tries to get nasty. What's he going to do, skip a $10M payday? $10M won't scare a true contender, and with all the dead money eaten by the Texans that's a 3 year deal for a new team with no risk. No guaranteed money, no cap hit, just the player at the salary. I could definitely see a few teams interested, it's all about what the Texans' plan is. It's not over a measley $1M that both the Texans have and that Johnson doesn't need. At some point, though, the team is going to have to weigh his importance on a team that will be at best 8-8.. but more realistically much worse and out of the playoffs. What difference does it make if you're 6-10 or 2-14? You're out of the playoffs either way.
darin3
The Texans would be better off trading him, but bad teams usually hang on to fan favorites. I think this is why Adrian Peterson won't be going anywhere either. It's not that he's just a fan favorite. He's an upper-level WR that could mentor a future star they have in DeAndre Hopkins. Johnson is said to be great in the locker room (maybe he won't be if he doesn't get his way, though).
DMD
This has been going on for a while. But no team is going to cough up $10 million for a 33-year-old WR. Not even Andre Johnson. He is owed $10 Million next year and $11 Million in 2015. And HOU is not going to cut him. He'll suck it up and come back in camp I would guess. He is not happy but he has no leverage here. MustOfBeenDrunk
Well as a DeAndre Hopkins dynasty owner I don't know how happy I am about the timing of this

MustOfBeenDrunk
Why? Your guy just got 30 more targets Hmmm, 30 more targets while being double teamed a majority of the time , that's why I'm not sure if I'm happy or not.
Mustangt125
I don't think he'll be seeing tons of doubles until he proves he needs it, which he hasn't done. What percentage would you guess Andre was doubled last year?
