Papajohn
Goodell caught way to little flack for the entire replacement referees debacle, but I don't think he will get unscratched through this as his his indefinite suspension of Rice might actually open him up to more criticism.
groovyfb
What are your thoughts on this? Â Â CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports suspended RB Ray Rice could be reinstated by mid-November. "An appeal hearing date has been set, with a final decision expected to come in an expeditious manner thereafter, and all of that could be resolved by mid-November," writes La Canfora. Rice maintains he didn't lie in his initial hearing with Roger Goodell, arguing he should only be suspended a maximum of six games as a first-time offender. Many believe Rice has an "exceedingly strong" case, and he could be available to sign with a team within four weeks. La Canfora wonders if the Colts and Patriots may be interested clubs. NYCDOG
Doubt any team will pick him up - rightfully or wrongfully he's radioactive. Seriously doubt the Pats in particular as Craft is on record saying he didn't think Rice would ever again play in the NFL
groovyfb
Can he be signed for only the remainder the year?  Would there be any good teams with weak, injured RB's, or lose their RB willing to sacrafice the negative publicity that comes with him for winning, making the playoffs and possibly the superbowl?  Someone said NE should be a no. But how about if they feel that this may be the last year Brady can still be effective and win and perhaps they make a trade by the deadline to improve his WR's?  Do Jerry Jones and Dallas think this might be the year? And if Murray goes down, do they think Randle can carry the team?  Carolina's RB's are a mess Detroit's RB's are often injured  How about if none of Denver's RB's can get it together?  If Seattle, Chicago, or some other team loses their star RB? Dolphin_Akie
Dolphins could use a back like him but the PR would be too much for them after bullygate last year. Â I honestly think some team will take him ahead of training camp next year.

If he shows enough stuff to someone who brings him in, he'll be playing again.

stevegrab
I think the PR mess is too much for most teams, those who wouldn't mind probably are not a position where signing him really helps. Â This is all IF he gets reinstated, still a pretty big if. Though I think he does have a decent case, because the NFL appears to have only gone with the longer suspension because of public outcry over the video. (Not because they now had new evidence.) DanTheMan_5
I'd be shocked if he plays this season. If he does play, I'd be shocked if it doesn't take him 3 or 4 weeks to round into game shape and get up to speed with new offense. Not fantasy relevant either way.
