keggerz
I've confirmed via an unnamed source, that I trust implicitly, that Martin wasn't benched due to a knee injury but for whiffing on blitz pickups. wpayers
Tough Love from Lovie. I see him as a players coach but with a very stern hand. He will coach with patience but won't tolerate critical mistakes. That was a swift message to Martin and to the entire team...I doubt he'll get another one. Rainey will be next man up regardless of difference in talent. Lovie is from the Dungy school which is branch off the Noll tree. Chloroform Rx
Didn't Rainey fumble the ball away on a critical drive? To me that stands out as the more critical mistake of the game.

wpayers
Didn't Rainey fumble the ball away on a critical drive? To me that stands out as the more critical mistake of the game. Yes, he did. But that was nearly at the end of game. I think last drive. Martin was already on the bench. Either way, the Bucs RB room must not have been cheery place this week. keggerz
Lovie isn't very happy with me (jump to 2:29) http://www.buccaneers.com/multimedia/videos/Press-Conference-Lovie-Smith/bd2d59f1-6129-448f-8a3f-c9eea0bfddd1 Still, I stand by my source and his information. Plus it stands to reason to ask why Lovie got so bothered by the "report." If it was nothing I think he'd have said "knee injury" and moved on. With that said, I don't think that means Martin is benched for good, but it does show that Lovie is willing to make a statement to the team about what will and won't be accepted. stethant
I don't know if your report is true or not but methinks two sources is a better standard, unless your one source is Lovie I suppose....

It wouldn't be the 1st time that a coach dismissed a report from an unnamed source.

Chloroform Rx
After today, can they possibly bring him back as their primary rusher? I have both him and Rainey -- really hoping they stick with the latter. Why the hell not not. It's pretty clear who is better right now. ShuckCreations
I picked up Justin Forsett thinking he would make amends for my Ray Rice draft pick. That turned out to be a RBBC. Do you think dropping him for Rainey would be a good idea? What is Rainey's longevity?
kwolf68
Personally, I am not hot for either Forsett or Rainey. I think Martin will come back and at best Forsett is in a RBBC, likely as the third down guy. I don't know the situation in TBay, but I would say Forsett is probably a safer long term solution (I could see him with 4/5 catches a week with 30-40 yards, some rushing yards and the occasional break away play). Rainey has better upside IF he played, because he'd be an every down back. But, as long as Doug Martin is in the picture, then Forsett is the safer play.
