bburdett
Asiata did not look convincing on the ground last week as the starter, is there chance they give McKinnon more than spell carries to see what he can do now that AP is out indefinitely? Dolphin_Akie
I think over time they'll go RBBC. Not seen last weeks game but guessing Asiata is more accomplished as a pass blocker?
XFlash
It is only 1 start. I think this week should give a better indicator. Then again, you might of the MIN version of the CAR backfield. No one really doing enough consistently to take the job outright. Stewart finally had a good game, now let's see if that translates to consistent performance. ShuckCreations
I'm hoping for Asiata....because that's who I picked up. Maybe a little biased? LOL
Scorcher
Somewhere there is a 2013 Zach Stacey waiting for his chance , the way things are going there are a lot of candidates and there will probably be more than one. Also they probably will appear sooner than last year.
darin3
One guy is "just a guy", the other has a ton of promise. They just need to wait until guy #2 gets some more meaningful NFL snaps. Do the math.
Dolphin_Akie
Norv Turner has said he will go with the hot-hand according to reports so it means both will get the opportunity you'd assume.
Alphashado
I haven't done any research into McKinnon's history. But I keep seeing the words "freakish athlete" used to describe him. That combined with a poor performance from Assiata last week, combined with Norv's RB history, combined with the latest "hot hand" comments, was enough for me to grab McKinnon. The kid could turn out to be nothing for several reasons, but this is the classic "beat everyone else to the hot waiver wire pick up" scenerio.
TonyBromo
I wouldn't be surprised if MIN went out and signed a veteran RB to come in and handle some of the workload or made a deal to acquire somebody else's backup (Bryce Brown?). McKinnon is a freakish athlete, but so are a lot of NFL players... that doesn't necessarily translate to NFL success.
BA Baracus
The answer is that it will be a fantasy quagmire until McKinnon takes the job, which my not happen this season.

I think he would be better suited at MIN, decent back with experience.

XFlash
This. http://sports.yahoo....-133330267.html good article about McKinnon background. Sounds good. Hopefully this week he can take advantage of the opportunities. I unfortunately do not have room for a stash unless I drop AP. Good luck to those this week that were able to pick up McKinnon. Valhalla
I have a strong feeling they'll trade for someone soon and probably dump Banyard. McKinnon hasn't been used very much, and when he has, he's not been impressive. It's still pretty early though. Short term, it looks like they want to roll with Asiata. LosGatosEnFuegos
The story of McKinnon is the story of every bench-riding talented rookie back that fantasy owners hate hearing. The guy just can't pass protect yet. He's a converted QB, so he doesn't have the reps that a lot of rookie backs have when they enter the league. He was asked to pass protect twice last weekend. He gave up a sack on one of those plays. Asiata gave up no sacks on 11 plays in pass protection. If MIN isn't giving up on the season, I expect them to bring in another back somehow because neither of these two is the answer for this season. Scorcher
LM.James (SF) is out there. He is debating on signing with TB. I think he would be better suited at MIN, decent back with experience. Don't know much about him. Does he seem like RB1-RB2 material? He would be the easiest one for the Vikings to grab. Although, Bryce Brown is intriguing he is just about the only legitimate back out there in a back up role. If he was traded to a running back hungry team he would be golden right out of the gate. Temper that with if he has some success during runs in space his role will get larger
