ShaDynasty
Hey all, new poster, long time lurker. Just wanted to get some Denver fans perspective on Matt Prater, is he going to be back this week and starting? If so I think he's a solid add as he's already done with his bye and is on a high powered offense and kicks in the mile high in half his games. Lemme know what you think, thanks! stevegrab
He is still serving his (4 game) suspension and won't be back until their 5th game in week 6. After that he should be good. Hmm just noticed he's available in our league, may need to add him now and then cut my other kicker (Gould) after week 5. Rileyrott
He is serving a 4 game suspension, and last week was a bye for the Broncos, so he has to sit 1 more game (this week) before he's eligible to return. The big question is.....do they keep him or McManus? Prater's salary is way up there, and if he gets caught drunk again, he's facing a 1 year suspension. Lots of $$$ and risk involved here. Only Elway knows what's gonna happen with Prater.
Shorttynaz
I put in a waiver claim on him in one league I'm in. He's taken in two others - and the last few I don't have the room..

I know first hand because he has killed me a couple times early on on the daily fantasy site I play

I know first hand because he has killed me a couple times early on on the daily fantasy site I play I was going to say they'd be crazy to stick with McManus over Prater, but didn't realize they made a trade with NYG to get McManus (a conditional 20157th round pick). There's also some stories that talk about them possibly sticking with him over Prater, in part because of Prater's contract. Including this one (though it came before week 3 where he only had 1FG & 1XP). http://www.coloradoan.com/story/sports/nfl/broncos/2014/09/17/kicker-brandon-mcmanus-making-case-stay-broncos/15759563/

davesworld23
Prater has been cut. didn't expect that. The problem isn't McManus, it's lack of FG opportunites

ECK
Hello, Mr. Prater, I have the Detroit Lions on the line for you...... Most definitely. Henery is the absolute WORST. As an Eagles fan, I have never hated a kicker so much in my entire life. I was laughing hysterically today at every miss.
MTSuper7
Yep, the Lions better bring Prater in. What a mess Henery is?
darin3
Yep, the Lions better bring Prater in. What a mess Henery is? Looks like they're working Prater, Feeley and Barth out. No way either of those guys beat Prater out. With Megatron and Bell dinged, Prater could have value in the coming weeks.... and beyond, given the dome and overall schedule. NAUgrad
I'm still surprised Denver let Prater go. There has to be more to the situation as he's way better than McMannis.
stevegrab
I'm still surprised Denver let Prater go. There has to be more to the situation as he's way better than McMannis. Well part of the situation is the money, and the second part is if he gets caught drinking again he is suspended for a long time (I think its a year, but could be 8 games). McManus hasn't been too bad so far, and in DEN you don't need a great kicker who can nail long FG. They get in the EZ most of the time, score a lot of points, and kicking it far is easier in the home field thin air.
