Is this year the worst first round in fantasy history?

In my 12 team league this year... we count points per completion (.15), points per receptions (.5), and 2 bonus points for 325 yards passing , 100 yards rushing, 100 yards receiving, and 40 yard TDs and 40 yard plays.

1. Brees - average

2. McCoy - bust

3. Peterson - bust

4. Charles - finally had a good game, but bust for the 1st 3 weeks

5. Forte - average

6. Calvin - Has disappeared since week 1

7. Rodgers - stud

8. Manning - stud

9. Demaryius - bust

10. Andrew Luck (yes, we all laughed at him when he took Luck this early) - Number 1 player in our league

11. Lacey - bust

12. Dez Bryant - bust

I don't think year is that much of an anomaly. Your draft is roughly 50/50% and it's too early to really make final calls. Every year there are disappointments and surprises. Last year we saw Rice, Martin, Spiler and TRich fall below expectations. A few went belly up early and never recovered.

Too early to label anything. Charles was a bust last week then rockets out 28pts so can easily recover and same for any studs so far doing the opposite.

To be fair your first round is quite different to the one I participated in but in all three leagues I play in scoring is down by around 10% compared to last year.

Your choices for first round picks are interesting. Andrew Luck wouldn't be first round material in most leagues. Replace him with Montee Ball and you have even more colossal suckage from the top 12.

However, it is only 1/4 of the season. I think certain guys are likely to finish the year in the top 12 on this list if they stay healthy. The only guys on this list I have real serious long terms concerns this year about are Peterson (obviously), Lacy, Brees, and maybe Calvin. I say maybe Calvin because he has pulled this 100+ catch, 1200+ yard routine with like 4 TDs before. Something just doesn't seem right with Lacy and Brees.

He might be all smiles about his Luck pick but he still could have gotten him at a lower round. One league he was the last pick of the 2nd round, in another he was the first pick of the 5th round. 4th round was his ADP, end of the second round is a decent guess for where it would be safe to assume one would still get him.

Given the fact that all the other skill possitions in the first round haven't lived up to their ADP, makes him the genius right now...have to see how the rest of the season plays out for Lacey and Bryant to crown him the king of the draft.

Depends how much that point per completion rule affects overall scores. Those of you jumping on the he too ka QB early bandwagon need to take the blinders of what would happen in YOUR scoring system and look at THIS situation.

But, regardless of scoring system and who was taken, a 50/50 hit rate 25% of the way through the season is about what I would expect. I'd also expect a couple of the early "busts" to bounce back while a few fizzle all year, and I would expect some of the big hits to fizzle and some to keep shining.

Lacy is getting ready to blow up.......I hope!?!?

I've been trying to trade for him, but no one is ready to give up on him even for a soild #2WR and a borderline #1 TE that fill a need on their team. The counter offer I received was they wanted Calvin for him. I'm hoping he doesn't turn around because I can't land him, but I'm thinking he will

My first 4 picks: RB/WR/RB/WR

AP 1.2

J.Nelson 2.23

M.Ball 2.26 (Just Missed Stafford who I really wanted)

P.Garcon 3.47

Its worked every year until this one.....but still 3-1 but match-ups and bye weeks have carried me and S. Smith at 9.98 thanks to an article on The HUDDLE!

As a Lacy owner I too am crossing fingers, but I gotta tell you, what I saw out of him in Bears game last week was a very plodding and non explosive runner. He should have shredded the Bears D if was anything close to what he showed last year. I'm not very optimistic.

Your league is hardly average euphy, but I would say it's the worst start I can remember for a large number of highly ranked players, not even limited to only first rounders. Hopefully it turns around bc I'm getting burned pretty badly by everyone but Murray
