ADRIAN PETERSON KEEPER HELP!

Hi everyone! Hopefully someone can help me out with something. I am the commissioner of a league and everyone is angry at a move I recently made with Adrian Peterson which in my view was completely legitimate!

So an owner in my league who had Adrian Peterson as his "keeper" dropped him earlier this week. I then picked him up with the intention of keeping him the next two years. Everyone is saying that I can't do that! Nobody has any valid reason other than "he was someone else's keeper". Well, in my view as soon as you drop your keeper... He is no longer yours and is fair game! Am I wrong here? Please help! Thank you!

We never really set forth any rules for this situation. Is there a standard set of rules that most follow for this sort of thing or does it vary league to league? Thanks!

There is no such thing as a "standard set of rules" ... each set of owners establishes their own rules. Sounds like your group of owners didn't put enough thought into your rules.

Love all these guys who think everything is spelled out in you rules. We don't have contracts for keepers or lose a draft pick for a keeper based on where they were drafted. Barring a rule that prohibits this move or the OP taking some special action as commissioner to pickup AP, its just sour grapes by the other owners.

If somebody drops AP, Rice or Gordon he's fair game for any owner to add and keep.
