There is no doubt the issues was with Harvin's personal conduct. Teams don't dump their #1 wideout, and arguably their best WR in the middle of the season for peanuts. He's got some pretty big issues if you can't get along on a SB caliber team, and your the talent they count on to get there. NY is the wrong place to be with issues. Wait till the paparazzi crawls up his butt to figure out what's really going on. I'm pissed at him cause I don't have a WR to play this week and now he plays for the 1-6 Jets with Gino Smith instead of Russel Wilson.

You got screwed this week, but Harvin has more fantasy value on the Jets. He will see more targets and touches because they have far fewer playmaking options than the Hawks.

Yup and Harvin will have a higher chance of injury because the jets will abuse him as long as they can

I love how winning solves everything in the NFL. I saw reports where that is what good teams do, they fix or get rid of problems right away.

On the other hand, if the Vikes were the team that gave him away after acquiring him with those picks, the story would be very different. The Vikes would've been screwing up again.

Harvin did have a good year while playing with Favre. Maybe the one QB that could keep him under control.

The Florida Gators knew of Harvin's issues in high-school......they still recruited him, and ultimately won two national titles with him.

The Vikings knew of Harvin's issues in high school and in college.....they spent a 1st round pick on him, won their division, went to a NFCC game with him as a key cog of their offence, and had him as their #1 WR for the next three years after that.

The Seahawks knew of Harvin's issues in high school, college, and in Minnesota.....and spent a 1st, 3rd and 7th to acquire him, then gave him $64 million contract with $14.5 million guaranteed.......They ultimate won a Superbowl with him, in a game where he returned a kickoff for a 87 yard TD, while leading their team in rushing.

The Jets know of Harvin's issues in high school, college, Minny, and in Seattle (as well as his successes at each and every stop).......and acquired him for a 6th round pick, with the potential of it being a 4th, if he pans out. They also get him on a 4.5 year deal with zero guaranteed money [beyond this season].

Hard to view this as anything but a coup for Idzik and the Jets.

Minnesota is the one that pulled the coup. Seattle got fleeced. And the Jets are one of the few remaining teams desperate enough to give Harvin another chance.

And the insinuation that Harvin heavily contributed to a SB championship season last year is silly. Clumsy journalism.

The Jets have a flare for the dramatic when acquiring top WR's. In 2009, another mid-season deal to acquire Braylon Edwards from the Browns for 3rd/5th round picks and scrubs; in 2010, Santonio Holmes for a 5th rounder. Edwards underperformed while Holmes was a clown in Piitsburgh. Rex clearly views the potential reward at this valuable skill position over the character/chemistry risk. If the price right rent-a-WR can be a useful tactic. The sad reality is Rex does not have patience or the skill to develop talent on offense.

Edwards, Holmes, Harvin, throw in Tebow for giggles and you've got a Broadway show. Les Jets Miserables.

This is a perspective I haven't heard but rings very true - appreciate the post.
