Is this cheating?

I play in a 12 team league and I am not the commissioner. Two team owners see no problem in "protecting players from the waiver wire" by trading players back and forth. They do not believe this is cheating. They claim it is smart and that the other owners are just jealous they didn't think of it first. The owners who disagree with them tried to veto the last of these trades, an injured Carson Palmer and Brian Hoyer swap, but were unable to gain 50%+ votes due to 2 unmanaged teams and passive ownership not wanting to interfere. I am aware of the many issues concerning league passiveness and team management, but my question is, do you believe that working with another team owner is cheating?

Yes. It is called collusion. It is blatant cheating and should not be allowed. Pretty amazing that you can't get 50% of your owners to see this very obvious situation. Hell they are admitting it, and actually seem to be proud of it. Definitely needs to be dealt with immediately. If not, you need to walk.

Most blatant case of collusion I've seen presented in several years.

Clearly the standard protocol should be enacted:

1. Remove these ass clowns from the league

2. If 1 is not accomplished, remove yourself from the league.

3. Clearly, you must sleep with their significant others. It is pretty much required in these situations.

Its not only cheating, they deserve to be throat punched for being arrogant d bags about it

This.

I can't stand this type of shenanigans. A throat punch would make it stop for sure.

I agree with everyone else. Either the Commish boots them out or I would leave the league. I am in a family league with my wife, both my brother-in-laws and their wives, and a few non family members. I have a hard time even giving my wife advice because I feel it's unfair let alone pulling crap like this.

Yes, it is a free (fun) league. We never encountered any issues until last year, and after this crap, we definitely need to put in some $ and kick out some owners. I appreciate your comments which confirmed exactly what I thought about the matter. It's a situation much like Finn spoke of, a bunch of friends of ours living across the country from one another trying to keep in touch through fantasy football. Evidently my wife and I are the only couple who are too competitive and honest to keep from cheating in the league.

Not too surprising they cannot get 50% to veto given the info provided. 12 team league, 2 owners doing the cheating + 2 teams not being managed leaves only 8 possible to vote it down, throw in some (1-3) passive owners who don't want to interfere ant that leaves little margin for the vote.

Agree it is cheating, collussion, roster sharing or player pooling and should not be allowed. Commissioner should take action, shouldn't require a majority of owners (or that majority should be minus the 2 teams involved in trade, since you know they won't veto it).

If it's not a keeper league then I can't imagine that trade holds up with Palmer on IR. Is that all there is to it? Palmer for Hoyer? What are the others?

But if it's a keeper league I don't see the issue.

I read the issue asn not about this one specific trade but that the owners are basically sharing rosters by trading players back and forth (and back again) to keep from releasing them. "Hey my TE is on bye this week, you're not using your #2 TE, so trade him to me for this guy, then we trade back later."

Correct, that trade was just the proverbial "straw" that broke the camels back.
