Besided the NFL has said no team in LA for 2015. So they may reach some decision soon, then the NFL owners vote, then we might have an announcement (some say before or around the SB). I know from my siblings that live there they were more Raider fans than Rams, but they love 3 games every Sunday now and would probably see a new local team as a negative in that regard. The numbers dropped off when they moved to Orange County as the stadium was smaller though they still did well until the final few years. That may be why they think there were more Raider fans as the OC and LA are 2 different beasts. http://losangelesram...attendance.html The reason why this is different is that this is the first time someone who actually owned and a team had the land and wherewithal to do it in the last 20 years. Before this there were only stadium proposals from groups in LA who didn't already have a team. Stan stands to double the value of the team by moving it to LA. Check the recent sales of the Clippers and Dodgers. I went to both Ram games and Raider games in LA and there's definitely a fanbase for both. We had Raider season tix from 82 to 94 though I still preferred the Rams. My dad was the Raider fan. I think people are underestimating how many Ram fans are here. We keep hearing "its almost a done deal so many times. I get this is different, and maybe that makes it work. But still far from done, and with how things go in LA (Cali in general) I could see some wrench tossed in (the great stinky moss makes it home there and is a threatened species). I don't doubt there is a fan base there. And I think a decent team will get support. But I also lived in LA and know people and the culture there. If the team isn't winning they won't get good support. LA isn't Cleveland or Buffalo where going to an NFL game is an event for many. In LA it will just be one more thing to do among the thousands of entertainment opportunities (including outdoor activity year round). Stan knows he stands to make a lot of money by doing this deal. And again, I'd say the fan support thing is overblown. The Dodgers regularly are near the top of the MLB attendance figs and if LA gets a team (LA, not the OC), the attendance will be very good. Then the Raiders came to town and I became a Raider fan rooting for Jim Plunkett as kid. Then they went back to Oakland as Al Davis drove them into the ground... good riddance. If the Rams move back to LA, they have to find a QB and put together a winning team. If they build a stadium, it's sort of a done deal. I always figured the Jaguars would be a good fit... we'll see. Even better 1973-80 with 8 straight playoff appearances, 4 trips to conference championship game and one SB appearance (but did lose in the first round 3 times). Those are some of the years I reember since I moved to LA in 1970, Haden, Youngblood.. I do agree with Thews40 that generally LA fans do not root for losing teams. They may have a large enough fan base that they still sell enough tickets and have good attendance. But generally the population there does not get (and stay) behind teams that are not successful over a period of time. I lived and died with that team and my heart was shredded by that b1tch when they moved. I guess for me when she died a lot of my animosity went away. I also happen to be friends with Stan Kroenke's daughter as I have worked with her for a few years in her capacity of head of the Playing For Change Foundation. She's real cool. If Stan brings the team back I'll be squarely behind them and the team. That said, I've never been able to root for them in St. Louis so I totally get where you're coming from. I agree, the general consensus I've heard from people I know around LA is that the team won't be well supported if the Rams perform like they have done for the past decade. What does it take to make a winning team... a QB. What if Brady somehow enters the free market and winds up on the Rams in LA... how cool would that be? My hate only runs so deep, but FWIW I really can't stand the Raiders (insert visual of me peeling the Raiders bumper sticker off my GTO when thy left). I moved to CO in 97 and became a Broncos fan.
