the outlaw
being reported by Ed Werder, ESPN... very interesting, as Callahan was apparently being courted by various other teams for either an OC or OL coach position, and DAL had also expressed an interest in matching any offer he received... Yep Browns were one of the teams considering him (last I heard they had asked for permission to talk to him and Linehan, don't know if they did). Hmm, now I read the Browns WR coach Mike McDaniel won't be back and is expected to join Kyle Shanahan wherever he ends up as OC. (Article I read said he was asked to leave the building after Kyle resigned and QB coach Loggains was fired, while they decided if they wanted to retain him.) Also hearing the Browns will interview their current TE coach Brian Angelichio for the OC job. They may end up going that route if all the other decent candidates take other positions. tazinib1
Why is this so funny? Callahan is one of the best OL coaches in the league. At least now he doesn't have to suffer through the stripped down title of OC that the Almighty One did to him in Dallas. It's a HUGH upgrade for one of the worst OL's in the NFL. the outlaw
I agree, it's a huge get for the 'skins, but unfortunately, WAS is where all coaches go to get paid and eventually fade into obscurity under the micro-management of the egotistical owner... Callahan (or anyone) will only be as successful in WAS as he will be allowed to be... However, I'm still scratching my head over the DC hire...the local Fox5 sports guy was having a field day this morning over that one...he just kept saying (at least 3-4 times) during his report, "did I mention he was 0-16 during his last DC stint with DET?"
