Chief Dick
The Colts clearly didn't start the players that would score the most points.
Finn5033
Unless we are talking high school sports, why is running up the score even mentioned? I understand saying it's probably a risk to leave some of them guys in there from an injury stand point. But as far as still trying to score, this is the pros, let's not worry about people's feelings Edited January 19, 2015 by Finn5033

stevegrab
Did I miss the point in the game where the Colts notified the Patriots that they had given up and would stop trying to score points? After the Pats went up 24-7 early in the second quarter, at least that is when the game seemed over to me. Kind of surprised people were still watching at 38-7. I paused the game, watched a little of something else, then zipped to the end to see if I missed anything, and I hadn't (except more Pats beat down). At you thinking CH was serious when he said that the Colts gave notice they weren't trying anymore. Wow and people say I'm dense (and cannot recognize sarcasm). For the record, I was being sarcastic (since that is lost on you).
Grits and Shins
Well it is hard to detect sarcasm when it is embedded in so much whining ... Bottom line: The NFL is for big boys. Too many times in the past when teams have attempted to show kindness or mercy to their opponents as they attempt to coast to a win they end up crashing and burning in a loss (instead of casually coasting to a win). The team on the losing side of the equation doesn't stop trying to score points so the team on the winning side of the equation should continue to try to score points as well. If you don't like the other team running up the score on you then put on your big girl panties and get out there and stop them and score some points yourself. In today's game it is not safe to drop into a safest/no score/low score offense and a prevent defense to try to coast to a win .. just ask Green Bay what they think about trying to coast into a win. Yes, there was soooooo much whining. If you can't tell the difference between being up 12 with 4 minutes to play and up 38 with 4 minutes to play . . . . well, I guess that says more about you. I'm fine with them throwing in that situation. As long as they are fine with defensive players taking shots at QB's and WR's for doing so. If you just look a little bit you can find examples of teams that had big leads in the 4th quarter only to lose the game. The fact that you are on board with a mentality that says "if we can't stop you within the rules of the game then we will resort to cheap shots and dirty play" speaks volumes about you. When you lose at playing board games with your family do you throw the game across the room?
CaptainHook
You are fine with your team quitting, wow. Listen you dumbfuck, I never said that. Are you stupid or just have reading comprehension problems? The game governs itself. Kinda like the "unwritten rules" in baseball. If you're gonna be an idiot and run up scores, you're gonna get what you deserve. And no team has ever come back from 38 points down with four minutes to play. You look it up. Which was the same as you saying you were fine with them quitting. You didn't say it, even if your attitude implies it.

Whatever, I'll give a 3.140159 for effort LOL ... I am trolling because I called somebody out for whining about his team being on the receiving end of an ass whuppin' ... yeah, okay. Not only did Hook whine about NE running up the score he demonstrated his vindictiveness in his attitude that when the Colts get their asses whipped they should start playing dirty and going for cheap shots. Not very sportsmanlike. But I guess he wants to live in the fuzzy world where nobody wins, nobody loses and everybody gets a trophy. No you're trolling because you're too dense to understand sarcasm and think he really said his team quit and that he's happy with that. Going back and reading the discussion I see his critical error, he took a shot at your cowboys...then had another reply to another cowboy fan If the Colts can't take the heat maybe they should bow out of the big boy games Says the Cowboy fan. always gotta be about Dallas around here . Sad really... You can talk honda when you get to a conference championship game or SB within the last decade. Then you said he was whining when he never complained about them trying to run up the score (he said he hopes somebody takes a shot at them). Then you started your whole "so when did the Colts inform the Pats they gave up?" and "so you admit your team are quitters" nonsense.
