CaptainHook Posted February 24, 2015 Share Posted February 24, 2015 The Colts have been clearing cap space like crazy . . . they've already cut LaRon Landry and Ricky Jean Francois . . . with more cuts looming (Donald Thomas?) and the fact they've set themselves up to try an wriggle out of Trent Richardson's guaranteed last year . . . they could easily have upwards of $45 million dollars in cap space for 2015. Are they clearing space because they know they have extensions for Andrew Luck, TY Hilton, Coby Fleener, Jerrell Freeman, Anthony Costanzo, and Dwayne Allen on the horizon? Or are they gonna take a run at Suh this offseason? None of the guys I mentioned have to be extended this year. The Colts can wait at least one more year on all of them. With the cuts the Colts have already made, they have no depth on the defensive line and no safeties with NFL experience . . . no matter what, the Colts will have to make a splash in free agency if they want to continue to build on their AFC Championship Game run. I would be completely shocked for it to be the case, but Demarco Murray would look great with a horseshoe on his helmet. No kidding. Why do you think they keep addressing the offensive line and running back? They signed Donald Thomas and he gets hurt two straight years. They sign Ahmad Bradshaw and he gets hurt two straight years. They trade for Trent Richardson and he's a bust. Vick Ballard goes down with season ending injuries for two straight years.
