Report: Andre Johnson will be released if the Texans can't trade him.

A source close to Andre Johnson told SportsTalk790's Lance Zierlein Johnson is on his way to the Colts.

Zierlein tweeted the following Tuesday morning: "Dre on owners private jet headed to Indy. He called Gore & they agreed both to Indy. Philly wanted both." So now it appears the Eagles didn't only lose out on Frank Gore at the alter, but they also lost a suitable veteran replacement for Jeremy Maclin. Meanwhile, Johnson would be a great fit with Andrew Luck as a sure-handed replacement for Reggie Wayne.

That would put a huge damper on Moncrief's value, with or without the wildcard of D Carter

I dunno . . . I wansn't expecting Moncrief to be the #2 this year anyway. He is still young and inexperienced. I think this actually helps him. Now you can put Andre Johnson and Moncrief on the outside and TY in the slot.

Not sure of that. Depends if they roll with 3 wide or 2 TEs. Otherwise it would be AJ, TY and Montcreif. But it is a lot of mouths to feed in the passing game

I'm going on the assumption Indy promised him a sizable role; a deciding factor in his request for release from HOU...coupled with the large amount of receiving options Luck will now have.
