Def.
To even begin to understand why he messed up, you need to know the Randy Gregory that existed before the Cornhuskers...
Savage Beatings
I am not at all anti-Josh Gordon... but I am anti-idiot. You are on the verge of making millions of dollars, just keep it clean for a couple of months man!

stevegrab
From the link provided "I blame myself," Gregory told NFL.com in revealing the positive test. "And I know it sounds cliché, but there's really no one else I can blame."  It would be more cliche if more people admitted that they screwed up instead of deflecting the blame (and then messing up again and again later). Yep, I'm talking about Josh Gordon.  I wonder how true Gregory's claim is that he quit by then, but he smoked so much in December it was still in his system. Dolphin_Akie
Even Manziel managed to behave himself for 2 months to maintain his draft stock before being selected and going back to his usual behaviour.

stevegrab
Â Â Care to elaborate? Â Am I wrong about Gordon deflecting most of his problems and being childish with his responses? Or just tired of me dragging him into these discussions? Â I just prefer people accept their punishment and admit they made a mistake. Instead of making excuses or claiming you'll change and screwing up over and over again.
bud29
I guess I never got the sense that he wasn't taking accountability for his actions. He did cite a rocky childhood as a reason for getting into this predicament, however that seemed to be in an effort to set the record straight amid all the conjecture from several media figures. Â That being said, I understand how you see it the way you do, especially since he was the star player on your homer team - I'd probably have similar feelings if someone like Jamaal Charles fell into a mess like this. He's still a moran for trucking up repeatedly and not changing, but I didn't think he was trying to pass the buck. Â Â Steering back on topic, how much do you guys think this failed test will make Gregory fall in the draft?
CaptainHook
If you can't keep yourself clean leading up to the combine, which will effect your draft status, which will effect how many millions you make, can you be expected to keep yourself clean once you get paid? I think this effects his draft status in a hugh way. I would not be surprised if several teams took them off their board completely.
MorningMud
Doesn't the positive test automatically put him in the leagues substance program too?
HowboutthemCowboys
Doesn't the positive test automatically put him in the leagues substance program too? Â I doubt it. He doesn't work for the NFL yet. Idk...
bud29
I read that the failed test does already put him in the first stage of the substance abuse program.
