Dante Fowler tears ACL during his first rookie minicamp

Recommended Posts

MFL has him as a DE so he'd definitely be one of the first IDPs taken in a dynasty/rookie draft. Tough break. First day? What are these guys doing? It's freakin' MAY. So dumb. The first few weeks with their new team should be spent with trainers and doctors evaluating every last muscle and tendon in these guys' bodies.

That just sucks so bad. Good healing kid. Luckily, they have come a long way in ACL repairs. Almost like a broken bone now just takes longer to heal and get back to full speed. More mental now then physical.

The Broncos 3rd round TE tore his ACL today. Not nearly the impact to the team, but crazy to see these ACLs popping in May.

I didn't understand or like that pick to start with, but still tough to see. Hopefully he comes back next year and it isn't a wasted pick.

Are trainers not doing their jobs out there?

No, that's not the issue. As I see it there are two things at play...1. Injuries happen. 2. These guys just finished prepping for the combine and are more in "track & field" shape than they are football shape and that could (not saying it's the reason) be part of the problem.

I'm sure a lot of these guys literally "hit the ground running" as well trying to impress their new teams and win starting jobs when they're probably not physically ready and their bodies are not yet prepared for the types of sudden movements required.
