The Ohio River Offense (Good read)

great article.

This quote pretty much sums up all the things wrong with the Bengals:

"As Brown saw it, however, the progressive-thinking Walsh was too soft to assume head-coaching responsibilities. When Brown tapped Bill "Tiger" Johnson as his successor, Walsh instinctively understood that he had to flee his mentor's pervasive shadow -- or risk being typecast as an assistant."

The Brown family has made one stupid decision after another... and that is why the Bengals will always be the Bungals.

Good read. I recall some of that part about Walsh coaching then moving on during the NFLN A Football Life program. Sucks that Paul Brown was trying to block Walsh from getting other coaching jobs.

To this day the SF 49ers still have a strong tie to the Youngstown area, and have tried to have multiple east coast games scheduled back to back, then spend the off week in Youngstown area. (And the Youngstown station sometimes shows an SF game that seems odd when you look at the surrounding markets.)
