Dolphins first-round WR DeVante Parker underwent foot surgery Friday morning.

He had a screw replaced in his foot and is expected to open camp on PUP. The "plan" is for Parker to be ready Week 1, but he's going to miss the remainder of the offseason program and very likely most, if not all, of training camp.

Parker broke his foot at Louisville and missed a big chunk of his final season there. This is a big blow to his NFL learning curve. Already part of a crowded receiving corps, Parker won't get the reps with Ryan Tannehill and falls well behind Kenny Stills, Jarvis Landry, and Greg Jennings on the depth chart.

He's mostly off the redraft radar, and his foot remains a long-term concern for Dynasty owners.

According to the agent for DeVante Parker, "it's hopeful" that Parker will be back for Week 1 following Friday's foot surgery.

After suffering a foot fracture in 2014, Parker reportedly began experiencing further soreness in his foot while running routes during Thursday's OTA practice. Doctors examined the foot, and determined Parker needed a new screw.

According to FOX Sports' Alex Marvez, Parker "should be able to return at some point during training camp, but the exact date is still up in the air." Jun 5 - 1:17 PM

Sounds a lot like the injury Kevin Durant has been trying to work through. Hopefully this one is different and the new screw fixes the soreness for good.

Makes my man crush on Jarvis Landry even crushier. Hope he heals up of course, but that news just means more work and targets for Landry. I honestly think he could catch over a hunge this year..."crossing fingers sophomore slump doesn't apply".....
