Donutrun Jellies
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25256985/eagles-trade-cb-brandon-boykin-to-steelers Hmmm .. a promising upgrade at a decent trade cost to address Pittsburgh's biggest weakness? Is he a difference maker for this year? Can they keep him for more than a year?
tazinib1
He a top 25 corner according to PFF and this is the last year on his rookie contract.
Avernus
Still don't know why the Egles would trade him away... This chit better work....Chip is putting his whole ego on the line...

Zooty
I don't get the trade from the Eagles side. That is part of the genius that is Chip Kelly. He is so good that he can give away starting, contributing players for pennies on the dollar and not have to worry. Next, he'll ship off his best defensive player in M. Kendrick for like a 3rd and somehow (because Chip is so smart) the team will get better, not worse. Genius!

Maybe he doesn't know that the CB is supposed to be able to cover the WR. His system is about getting WR's open looks right? Maybe he is trying to make it fair and give other teams WR's open looks too!
tazinib1
Kelly prefers taller/bigger CB's. Boykin is only 5'10 and 182lbs. Plus Boykin has been complaining about playing slot exclusively. If you don't fit his scheme, you're gone. Don't shoot the messenger. Edited August 2, 2015 by tazinib1
tazinib1
The pick also elevates to a 4th rounder if Boykin plays 60% of the defensive snaps this year. A very feasible possibility. So they trade a guy who more than likely would not resign next year and is not a prototypical CB in the eyes of Kelly for a probable 4th rounder. I'm not seeing what the problem is. Dolphin_Akie
I guess Chip has the job security (knowing that if he's fired he could walk into a top HC job in college football) that he can run things exactly how he wants with the personnel he wants. If it all blows up then he'll be unemployed for about 5mins.
