tazinib1
As a person who just finished rehab Sunday, I feel for the guy. I get it. It's not easy to not only ADMIT you have a problem but to seek it out is sometimes harder. I'm not sure what his playing career will be going forward, but I hope he gets some help...and fast.

Papa Deuce
I hope he gets the help he so needs The 49er's didn't do him any favors by not cutting him before.
tazinib1
To be fair, let's not blame the 49'rs front office. Aldon restructured a $12m GARAUNTEED contract to a performance incentive laced deal on the premise he wanted to prove himself. I think he had a great personal agenda but alcoholism is a powerful, nasty disease that takes no prisoners...ever. He needs help pure and simple and until he himself realizes that, as a person, he is doomed to fail every time. Congratulations Taz on recognizing your problem and being brave enough to get yourself help. You have even more of my respect now for facing your problem and more on top of that for your empathy. I've come to the conclusion that life is a lot about grace and restoration. You are an example of both, brother. You face a tough road but you've already taken the hardest steps. I will keep you in my daily prayers. Edited August 8, 2015 by Tripleshot
Tripleshot
When I saw this thread one of my first thoughts was to post something about how the Niners misery just continues and to rub it in a little. (I'm a Seahawks fan and the Niners are the anti-Christ, after all.) Then the very first posts were awesome examples of what the real issue really is here. I salute the humanity and empathy of my fellow Huddlers. There have been some moments on this forum we're all not very proud of but then there is this.

Cowboyz1
Smith has a death wish. I suspect something happened to this kid that is unspeakable and until he deals with it and moves past it he will continue to try to end his life because he can't deal with it. I feel bad for the guy because it's obvious he is no longer in control of himself. I hope someone gets to him and he gets help.
Zooty
3 DUI's, a hit and run, felony weapons charges, and is eligible to play? Doesn't sound right...... after the way they punished Hardy and AP last year prior to anything more than accusations, to even let this joker suit up is pure hypocrisy. Absolutely unfathomable how they are looking at his charges as minor when they throw the book at everyone else. Wait till they find out he probably smoked Josh Gordon too. Then they'll put their foot down.
