WildTurkey Posted August 24, 2015 Share Posted August 24, 2015 no that's not crazy depending on who went 1,3, and 4 and your scoring system. Julio, DT, and Dez would be the "safe" picks. In my one and only draft so far, I kept hill (rd 9), took bell with 1.03 then proceeded to draft 5 wrs in a row (cooks, mathews, cooper, landry, desean). Feel good about it so far. I'm cautiously optimistic about OBJ. I think he is properly being projected as a top 5 WR with the potential for the #1 WR spot. He has a good situation, the physical talents and the supporting cast that makes him a top WR candidate. The reason I am cautious is that we have seen lots of players have explosive bouts in a season, similar to what OBJ did last season and be in a similar wituation the following season and not perform to that expected level. In short, I am not an OBJ buyer with a top 5-6 overall pick, but, depending on league size/lineup/scoring, I would start considering him in the latter part of the first round and definitely if he makes it to the second round, which he rarely is. WR is deep so I'm targeting RB early (1st two rounds) and then hitting WR hard. I had a fun 10 team draft last night with a lot of my wife's family. Had the 9th pick. While the smart play would have been going RB/RB, which I normally would have done (I could have started out with CJ Anderson and Forte), I instead decided to go full on WR mode and ended up with Dem Thomas, Calvin Johnson, Keenan Allen and Andre Johnson (must start 3, can start 4). I was going to try full on Zero RB if Olsen and Peyton made it to me in the 5th/6th, but they went the two picks in front of me, so I went full on Zero QB instead and added Doug Martin and Jonathan Stewart at RB (and filled in with Spiller, Bernard, Mathews at RB, got Cameron at TE and added Royal) and I did not take a QB until Round 12 (got Stafford.... gotta love 10 team leagues) Now, in a more competitive/money league, I absolutely am grabbing the RBs there (or at least one of them) as the league requires 2 RB starters, but for this I wanted to see how far I could push it before the value screamed RB.
