Breshad Perriman returns to practice

Breshad Perriman (sprained PCL) returned to practice on Thursday.

It's his first practice since July. Perriman had a private workout with wide receiver coach Bobby Engram and later joined his teammates for drills. Ravens beat reporter Jeff Zrebiac threw out October 11 versus Cleveland as a possible return date, though he wouldn't rule out October 1 against the Steelers.

So I don't know much about this guy. I nabbed him off the waiver wire in a potential preemptive move in a 12 team league. Just seems to me that the Ravens are so desperate for a deep threat that they are going to immediately get this guy heavily involved in the offense. He might even start next week.

He was the Raven's 1st round pick this year. Did anyone watch this kid play in College?

Thoughts?

He is easily the the most physically gifted receiver on the Ravens roster. His combination of size and speed is freakish. He is still a bit raw in terms of routes and some say he dropped too many passes in college, but that's not the entire story as his QB play was beyond atrocious. He is a great player to take a flier on.

We have 1 spot for players listed as "Out" for injured reserve and I had him added as a throw-in after a week 1 trade for Phil Rivers. I have high hopes for him, but not until the 2nd half of the season.

Interesting. Would you say he has more upside than Tory Smith had? I always steered clear of Tory Smith myself because he was the model of inconsistency. One big game for every 3 duds. Now I'm not sure if that was a function of Flacco/play calling, or simply a very limited skill set from Tory Smith.
