When people say "my team is in my signature"

I'm in 8 leagues.. 6 smaller ones ($40 or less) and two big ones. I post my main local team in my sig cause I do ask for advice from time to time. Posting my roster, scoring, starting requirements gets to be a pain in the ass every time I ask for an outsiders opinion..

Almost as annoying as the trophy case sig.

We have the same in our running forum where people will list their personal best times / entire schedule of upcoming competitons. While it can be useful, to a degree, it's a lot of waste of bandwidth. I limit my signature to one line.

Better question, why does anybody think we care about their team?

lol. So ruthless, yet so true. I have often reflected on this over the years. I cringe every time a news anchor or talking head starts talking about their own team. It's a weird demographic. We all care so much about our own team, yet when someone starts talking about their team, we patiently wait for them to finish, smile, act interested.

It's a strange function of human nature. it's like when someone starts pulling out pictures of their kids or grandchildren.. we pretend to care, but we really don't.

The only time I am genuinly interested in someone else's roster, is if they are an NFL player. Like last year when Larry Donnell admitted that he had himself on his fantasy team the week he scored 3 TDs vs the NYG, yet he benched himself in favor of Vernon Davis.

That being said, I don't mind reading someone else's team. So the forum signature thing is cool with me.

I will not bow to this ranger from the north.

No way will I let Huddler peer pressure get to me! I'm keeping my super bowl prediction, my local team and my huddle game win log.

I think it keeps it more fun and personal in the forums. For those that think that the trophy case in the sig is stupid/silly obviously hasn't won a single thing in Huddle games. Plus, it helps me remember who has won what games here at the Huddle!

As for listing teams in the sig, I actually like them, as I can see who values who and see the different styles of leagues.

The superbowl prediction was copied from another Huddler, seems like an age ago. I've been putting my Heehawks vs another team for the past decade plus and will continue to do so at the beginning of each season for the foreseable future. Luckily my prediction came true three seasons ago, even if the score wasn't quite right!!

So poo poo on all those party poopers who think all of this is a waste, if you don't like them, turn the sigs off! :peace:
