irish
Employees of both sites will no longer be allowed to play cash games at other fantasy sites as NY Attorney General investigates allegations that employees used inside information to gain an unfair financial advantage. WildTurkey
it was a lot easier to win DFF last year; that's what I've noticed.
Cowboyz1
I bet they where sharing player usage data between them. That would give you a huge advantage knowing what players are being played at the higher percentages and which are the lowest or hardly used.
loaf
I can't believe that neither of these had a rule in place that didn't already exclude employees from playing. Dumb.
Valhalla
I was having fun playing DFS until all this came out, now I've lost interest a bit. Where there's smoke there's fire. Even if he did nothing wrong, this has damaged the industries reputation. The guy who won is also enjoying a gigantic winning streak. Without independent and neutral access to central data, the whole thing is skewed imo.
stevegrab
I bet they where sharing player usage data between them. That would give you a huge advantage knowing what players are being played at the higher percentages and which are the lowest or hardly used. Even if they were not sharing, would the player usage really be that different between the two sites. So just knowing what players are used on DK helps the guy place bets on Fanduel. Is somebody that works at a casino doing sports books prohibited from betting at other casinos? Are employees involved in casino games prohibited from playing them at other casinos? Do they have some "insider" information (the sports book people more specifically)? Edited October 8, 2015 by stevegrab
Ramhock
Never played, never will, certainly now. The dude took his own info and bet a contrarian lineup on the other site. He should give the money back, total BS. Daily has grown too much, too fast. Gotta be other shenanigans going on.
Dcat
Employees of both sites will no longer be allowed to play cash games at other fantasy sites as NY Attorney General investigates allegations that employees used inside information to gain an unfair financial advantage. Shocker! how about employees' spouses, children, parents, grandparents, 1st cousins, mistresses, pets and the like? Within the next two years, these daily sites are going to be so heavily regulated (as well as banned in many states) that it's going to make their heads spin. Are employees involved in casino games prohibited from playing them at other casinos? Do they have some "insider" information (the sports book people more specifically)? When ever there is easy money to be made there is the inevitable problem of individuals using that very fact to exploit ways to take advantage. All it would take is one of the people that have access to player data sells that information to the Russian mob, Mafia, Terrorists, and anyone else that lacks the scruples to prevent them from threatening your family, friends, or your own life if you don't provide the info. Way too easy to provide who's the least used players at each position and place lineups based on that data. Think about it. If I had access to all that kind of info can you imagine how easy it would be to just provide a list of all those players each week and I put 100 buck and 50 to 100 lineups in the big games each week! There is nothing preventing anyone in the world from access to that kind of winnings. After all they claim they pay out 75 million per week! It's like having the lotto numbers probability charts if it wasn't random which daily fantasy is NOT random. You can actually put together probability charts with daily fantasy and if you have the usage data you could make a killing. The way to catch them is to investigate all the big winners. You will find that the people who win often based on the same probability have access to the information. Then it's just a matter of figuring out how they are doing it. Then again, that assumes the people are greedy. If they aren't greedy and just hit a run, they will be much harder to catch. The industry had no idea they were going to be able to make so much money. The data access is what the FBI is going to have to regulate. It's not like gambling at casinos where there is a randomness to people winning. The simple fact that having player data unsecured and held by employees is the weak link and it what differentiates casinos from daily fantasy. If I have data from one site I can increase my odds of winning on the other site astronomically. Cowboyz1
I have noticed that it has become infinitely harder to get into the money this year. Last year I could just about stay even and was so so close to winning big a number of times last year. this year it seems either I suck or something's changed. They are actually paying out more positions this year than last in the tournament games. I'd probably chalk it up to variance.
