Keeper leagues, would you hold hope for J Charles next year?

I'm in a 2-keeper league and have had Charles for 3 seasons now. He's been a beast, but at 28, looking at his second ACL tear, would you hold out hope he comes back again as a 1/2 round pick next year?

I'm putting him in my IR slot to pick up someone, but ESPN leagues allow players who are just designated "out" 1 or 2 games to be put into IR. If one of my other good players is out a game or more, I will have a decision to make as to whether to drop charles to put out the other guy in IR and play the waiver wire, or just bite the bullet. Don't have anyone else really droppable at the moment.

I know no one has a crystal ball, and it's the ACL in the other knee, but anyone else holding out hope he's keepable, or would you drop him for someone who's probably not a keeper - just a plugin with upside?

I think it depends how you are doing this year, but I think he will come back strong. I am actually currently targeting him in my keeper league (2 keepers, one vet and one rookie) because I am 0-5 and his owner is 4-1 and I have no forseeable keeper on my team right now. My best players have been Amari (who I already get with rookie keeper) and steve smith sr (who may not even play again next year), so I am trying to get someone good for a keeper, especially considering this season looks to be over.

I'm about to lose my first game, due to Jamaal going down and Julio (my other keeper) having another underwhelming game. Don't have any other viable keepers at this point (maybe L. Murray or Brees if their seasons pick up) so I'll probably hang on to him. Just seeing what others in this predicament are thinking.
