Manning torn Plantar Fascia

I just heard this on the radio this morning - and it's being reported that the Bronco's have known about this injury for a while - they just chose to not make it public info.

My question is, isn't that against the rules to hide an injury - or has Manning been listed as 'Questionable' or 'Probable' each week? I don't follow the injury report much - nor do I follow Manning in fantasy..

Ive had him on my bench in a 16 team league and he's listed as probable every week. It never says why though

I think the injury narrative is probably Kubiak doing some CYA because he just benched a legend that broncos fans are split down the middle on.

Sure a 40 year old QB is going to have some dings a little past the half way mark in the season. But I can't buy that this injury was a mystery and is now the reason Peyton has struggled for "the past few weeks". If so, then why was Peyton nailing 20+ yard passes against GB (only 2 weeks ago) like it was his job? Its a lame excuse to cover bad play just like the mystery quad injury he was supposed my playing with down the stretch last season.

This explains a whole lot of what I've seen. I always thought it curious that on one play he'd throw up a hugh duck, then three plays later hit Sanders with a laser beam 30 yards downfield. The (in)/ability to plant on certain parts of the foot makes perfect sense. His arm is still shot, no question, but you'd at least expect it to be consistently shot if it were all about the arm. Clearly there's been more there.

It's a shame, but it happens to them all. Watching legends fall apart is always tough to stomach.

Dude, they aren't going to make up an injury to smokescreen his benching. I don't doubt they hid the injury for a while tho.

Never said they made it up. I said they're using the injury narrative (aka exaggerating it) as an excuse for garbage play.

Torn plantar fascia is a very serious injury for an athlete. It's incredibly painful and takes a long time to heal. It's hard to rest itas simple walking can aggravate it. It prevents a player from pushing off of the inflicted foot. For a QB, he won't be able to step full weight into a throw. We all know Manning's arm has declined, so if he can't even step into the throw, basically all hope is lost.

He injured his foot against Indy. But if you listen to Kubiaks press conference he stated that manning has been dealing with shoulder and rib injuries "for a few weeks". Manning came off a bye week and balled out on green bay. No sign of injury struggles. This is why I call BS.

Manning notoriously hides injury. I am taking Kubes at his word.

for a qb this injury is brutal as they cant push off and use their legs as they need to make throws . I have no doubt its a legit injury and a reason why manning has struggled . is it the only reason he has strurggled ? definitely not but its a good part of it especially last game
