Trade for A. Brown

I dont think teams in playoff contention should trade with teams out of playoff contention

That's too hard to control. There usually a small gap between contention and not contention. Also, in our league, people are playing for drafting position next year. The league winner gets the top pick and down the line. So teams should always be playing for something.

By playoff contention I mean if they are mathematically eliminated they should not be trading with anyone who is. That is not hard to determine, it is quantifiable. Of course if you have something where the final standings matter then everyone can trade, but in a league that redrafts randomly and final standings have no bearing on next season. Teams out of contention should not trade with those that are in.

I still disagree due to the fact that all teams should have full rights as long as they play. That's like disenfranchising a team because they're not good enough. That's why most leagues have a reasonable trade deadline in place to help avoid this issue.
