Today is trade deadline. Stafford worth pursuing?

I'm trying to play the matchups vs the Saints for the rest of the season. I just traded Carr for Winston for week 14. I have Brees as my majority starter. I'm considering trying to make a last minute deal for Stafford for week 15 vs the Saints. Not sure if it's worth it though. They're playing in New Orleans. Whatever advantage I gain from the matchup is pretty much negated by it being an away game. What do you guys think ?

I'm carrying Dalton, Stafford, and Bortles for the same reason, but your bench is shorter than mine. I would say that I can't see you ever playing Amendola, and he is droppable. If you do that, you'll have tough match ups all around next week, but then you would be playing NO twice and then your choice of Jax, SF, or CHI.

Having said that, kind of doubt someone's going to give up Stafford for Amendola after this game.

I can pick up more depth at WR if needed. I have 2 kickers (Santos & Tucker), I can drop one. I'm also carrying 3 defenses (Carolina, New England, Kansas City). I'm building my team for the playoffs. New England has Tennessee in week 15, KC has Cleveland in week 16. (#1 & #2 matchups). I actually traded Rivers for Brees a week or so ago, for his playoff matchups (Detroit & Jax). I'm probably just overthinking it and getting greedy with the matchups. I don't need Stafford, but it's intriguing to see what kind of numbers he can put up against the Saints.

I talked to the guy and he doesn't even want Amendola. He wants Antonio Gates & Carolina defense. I have Olsen as my starting TE. And I have KC & New England for defense....both have great match ups for the playoffs, so I was probably benching Carolina anyways. Basically I'm almost getting Stafford for free if I make the deal.

A lot of people could have WR like this. Julio OBJ were late 1st to early 2nd round picks and Hopkins didn't go until the 4th in a lot of drafts. There is a guy in our league what has julio, dez and hopkins

I agree...I ended up with Julio obj and calvin....rbs were going fast and early so I jumped on the wrs. Also ended up with sanders and arob too

Ok so the deadline is actually today. I thought it was yesterday. I just acquired Winston last night for week 14 against the saints. I'm not too worried about winning that game. If I win one game out of the next 3, I clinch the #1 seed. So I can get Stafford for Winston and he'll probably ask for Gates. I can spare gates because I have Olsen. Plus there are a few decent TE's out there to put on the bench behind Olsen. I'm mainly concerned about whether this was just a flash in the pan for Stafford, or if him & Jim Bob Cooter & Megatron are actually on the same page now, and are going to continue to do well. I'm strictly wanting this trade for the week 15 matchup. Lions @ Saints. I already have Brees. My gut tells me the potential fantasy points difference between the two of them that week might not be worth this trade. Especially since I would only use Stafford in week 15. Week 16 I'd go back to brees against Jacksonville.
