michaelredd9
Holmgren is rumored to want the 49ers coaching job. He probably wants buckets of money. I wonder if he'd keep Kaepernick.

Zooty
how much? I'm in too. Cowher and Gruden are too comfy on set. Holmgren may want to dabble but I think he's looking for a GM shot not a coach.
stevegrab
It amazes me that names like Holmgren, Gruden, and Cowher continue to come up every year.Every time the Browns are searching for a coach (every 1-3 years) people toss their names out (not Holmgren) and say "just pay them whatever they want". People don't understand these guys are well paid, already won it all, and don't want to return to coaching, certainly not for the team from dysfunction junction. Consider who brings the names up, fans, media and in this case Holmgren himself. Have any been interviewed or even mentioned as candidates by a team?
Montana is da Man
The 49ers needs a new owner. Forget a new coach And a new GM. Yorke + Baalke = kiss of death
Seahawks21
It's so weird, remember a handful of years ago when all these guys became free at the same time, and they were ALL rumored for every job. Mooch, Holmgren, Gruden, Cowher and Shanahan, possibly a few others as well. The only one that ever went back was Shanahan. Just crazy. Every time he's asked, you know Holmgren really wanted to coach again. I'm so shocked he never coached the Browns, I would've had that as a 100% lock when he took that GM job. I'm admittedly in the bag for Holmgren, I think the guy is as genius as any coach in the NFL today, and there isn't a single coach I would rather have working with a QB. He wanted to go to SF last year and SF didn't take the call. What a bunch of freaking idiots.

Bobby Brown
If Kelly legitimately alienated himself with his players until the bitter end, why would he get another shot in the NFL? No way you can succeed that way. Edited January 1, 2016 by Bobby Brown
stethant
I can't see Holmgren working out in SF. With their owner, why on earth would he want to do that, unless he was given complete and total control of the team? Chip Kelly in NY - that would be almost as entertaining as watching Trump run for Pres.

He has said that he regret not coaching the Browns, when he was hired Lerner told him he could do whatever he wanted including coach, but he said heh had no interest (then). Yeah a local beat writer in Miami says the same everytime the Phins want a coach and people are calling for Cowher. He's not coming to this hot mess in Miami with a meddling owner, if he was ever to come back he'd look for a much better situation and even then Im not sure. No way you can succeed that way. I'm thinking that as well. I could see him get another shot in the NFL - assuming that's really what he wants - but think it would help for him and the next team for him to take a step back for a year or two. He might offer to do it for cheap since the Eagles are going to owe him like $7 million over the next two years, HMMMMM... First of all, the Giants will never fire a potential HOF coach like Coughlin. If anything, the two parties will "mutually agree" on something. Second, Kelly couldn't handle the media spotlight in NY. No way.
