He feels like his word backed by his interpretation of the contract gives him the authority to wield his heavy hand any way he pleases ... and if you don't like it ... well, you can go through the appeals process where he will review your appeal to his actions. This whole thing with Tom Brady stunk to high heaven. Personally I don't give a damn if he deflated balls or not. Goodell latched onto what would be minor infraction (if true) and decided he wanted to make an example out of Brady. Turning the normal penalty of a modest fine into a 4 game suspension was a clear indication of his personal vendetta. Goodell got pissed that Brady didn't capitulate and sought to punish him to the fullest extent of his ability. He applied the penalty without a shred of evidence. And the fact that he is still pursing the case in court is a further indication of just how damn childish he is (he is essentially still throwing his damn temper tantrum). 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
