LeSean McCoy fought the law

Apparently the law lost.

ABC 6 Action News reports LeSean McCoy assaulted two off-duty Philadelphia police officers early Monday morning.

McCoy and a friend reportedly got into a physical altercation with two off-duty officers around 2:30 a.m. Monday morning at the Recess Lounge in Philadelphia. ABC 6 reports both officers were hospitalized as a result of the altercation, and Fox 29's Dave Schratwieser reports one of the officers suffered a fractured skull. Schratwieser also reports the incident began over a bottle of champagne. Neither McCoy nor his friend was arrested, but both are reportedly the focus of the investigation.

Assaults 2 off duty cops and is not arrested? One of the cops has a fractured skull. WTF But he is the focus of the investigation.

I guess he doesn't like playing in the NFL, or maybe it was that trade to the Bills.

Or maybe the off-duty cops were trying to be bad-asses and started the altercation?

Not going to rush to judgement before having all the details, but this does not sound good if McCoy is found to be involved.

Philadelphia Police confirmed two off-duty officers were hospitalized after an altercation inside a nightclub early Sunday morning.

The two off-duty officers were allegedly assaulted by four assailants after an argument over a bottle of champagne at approximately 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning. LeSean McCoy is believed to be one of the alleged assailants. One of the officers suffered a laceration to his right eye, a broken nose, broken ribs and a sprained thumb. The other officer needed stitches over his left eye and is receiving treatment for a possible skull fracture. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Sure that is possible but based on what? Simply not believing that McCoy and his friends (drinking at 2:30AM at some club) are the ones who started it?

And if the cops were hospitalized (one with a fractured skull) what injuries did McCoy and his group sustain at the hands of the police?

Right now the only thing that makes me think it's possible is the fact that McCoy and whoever else he was with aren't behind bars already

 seriously... pretty common sense thought there.

Yeah maybe some evidence (video?) or something comes out that changes things drastically, but the fact that they weren't arrested on the spot does say a lot.

Could also be they're making sure they have a good case before charging him, not uncommon when dealing with incidents involve a celebrity, or somebody with money.

I get what you guys are saying about no arrest and that could mean they were not in the wrong. Will wait to see what else somes out.

I don't know if I heard this right but on ESPN this morning they said that the Philly police department has some kind of policy where if they're a public figure they will give them the benefit of the doubt and not arrest them on the spot, rather they will do their due diligence and then issue a warrant if need be. what the eff? If this was anyone else, they'd be in jail.

I would not be surprised if that was policy in many major cities with pro sports teams, as well as many college towns, heck even the Steubenville Ohio rape case involving HS football players indicated the cops and prosecutor played loose with the law. It would surprise me if any LEO or other official actually made this statement to somebody who made it public. That would be admitting what the public has claimed for a long time. (Every once in a while somebody argues against it, or says the players get even more scrutiny and harsh treatment.)

I recall reading after some local incident in CLE with an athlete that many teams have their "head of security" reach out to all LEO groups in the area asking for a heads up if they catch their players doing stuff.

Prosecution is becoming less and less likely against McCoy. Looks like the off duty dudes were a tad wasted lol. Picked the wrong buff RB to mess with it seems haha. I strongly doubt any charges will be filed and zero punishment from the team or NFL.

My FT player just dodged a bullet

Hate to ask but I really don't know the NFL's new violence rules too well, does it matter if he's charged or not? If the NFL finds he was involved, won't it be more about the violence than whether or not he's charged?

Are there really rules? I thought The Overlord just kinda did whatever he wants.
