The argument for or against pot being legal is no excuse for breaking the rules when it is clearly still against the rules. Honestly, even if it becomes legal for the general public the NFL still has the right to enforce a policy forbidding their players from smoking Josh Gordon. Just as they should, not all conditions of employment have to be things covered in laws. I never saw a dress code in local/state/federal law, but I've had one everywhere I've worked. Yeah we think pot shouldn't be against the rules but that doesn't mean we dont think he's an idiot for smoking pot despite knowing it's against the rules. He just wanted a fat pay day which he thinks a rookie contract was, quit and smoke dope the rest of his life. Some guys just don't want to succeed. I remember when the kid said on draft day, Jerry doesn't have anything to worry about. Sure, nothing to worry about, you can count on me to show you within the first year I won't be playing football.
