CaptainHook
Reports are that Manning has informed the Broncos that he intends to retire and will announce it on Monday. Congratulations Peyton to a spectacular career. It's been a pleasure to watch.
DMD
In my opinion, one of the best QBs to ever play. But no way he was going to stretch it out for one more year. He not only owns pretty much all significant passing records, he always comes across as likable. I am glad he got another SB ring even if he did not have that much to do with it.
Rileyrott
Thanks Peyton from this Bronco fan! 4 AFC West Titles, 2 AFC Championships, 2 Super Bowl appearances...1 SB win, 2013's awesome season, plus all the records. Truly one of the greatest!
AX2RUN
I was a harsh critic of Manning this year, but it truely is sad to lose a legend. He took Denver from a member Weak Weak West and turned us into the powerhouse of the division and some would argue the conference. Glad to see him end it all in the right way. AX2RUN
It doesn't appear he had a choice fwiw True. But I was 90% sure he was going to Favre this thing and try and do 1 more year somewhere after about the 3rd week after the SB and he still hadn't made an announcement. Just the type of competitor he is and as much as the game means to him. I'm sure we're in for a hell of a press conference tomorrow

Seahawks21
15 playoff appearances in an 18 year career, one year of which he sat out. Ridiculous. Many with quite mediocre rosters. There's a lot of similarity between Peyton and Jordan. Jordan changed the NBA. Volume scorers started being built to be like him in high school. Now, just about every NFL team has a QB that tries to do their Manning impersonation at the line of scrimmage, directing and centering their whole approach on letting their QB read the field and make decisions based on the defenses. He proved that the whole thing revolves around the QB. Like Jordan, it will be a long, long time before anybody can have that kind of impact on the game. Every team he has played against for the past fifteen years has practiced for "Peyton week" every time they played him. Nobody in my lifetime has come close to matching the impact he has had on the game.
Patriots
Great rivalries make sports. As a Patriots fan I want to wish Peyton well and thank him for all those years of being our arch rival. He is one of the best to ever play the position. Good luck and congrats on going out on top.

Glad to see you didn't qualify that "best QBs to ever play" with "regular season" tag as some have been doing. Great career, truly a difference maker not just to the teams he played on but what the position is and can be. Thanks for the memories... blaw23
Definitely one of the best QB to ever play the game and it was a pleasure to get to watch him play his whole career. I still remember the day he was drafted and I thought to myself he will be in the HOF some day. I am sure I was not alone in that thinking since it was pretty obvious he was special even before he played one NFL down. As stated before he changed the way the QB position is played. Good luck Sheriff on your next adventures. Me too. Remember the pre 1998 draft debate about who should go no. 1? Peyton Manning/Ryan Leaf or Ryan Leaf/Peyton Manning. We all know how that turned out. BA Baracus
Man, I have to get off twitter today. All the freaking hate from all the dickless haters is obnoxious. stevegrab
Man, I have to get off twitter today. All the freaking hate from all the dickless haters is obnoxious. If only there were a way to punch idiots in the face on the internet... Twits on twitter no way. Social media makes it so easy for too many to be idiots and spread their nonsense to a large audience. In the old days it was localized to a few message boards, forums or comments on a news story. Ignore them, enjoy your most recent SB victory (I was pulling for you guys but still hate you a little) and what Peyton did for your team and the NFL.
