Why? Just because?

No, because if the Bears wanted to throw a dart at a middling TE, they might as throw one that's more of a physical specimen. One who has played well below his ability. Instead they threw one who has incredibly limited upside.

Well - Jared Cook's upside is incredibly low as a TE. He's a glorified receiver and one of the worst run blockers at the position. So, here's hoping they stay away from that hot mess of a player.

Totally disagree.

And now watch him burn the Bears defense twice a year.

We'll get to see his receiver skills - that's for sure. He couldn't have ended up in a better spot to see his ceiling and won't need to block too much in GB.

Is anyone else at least a little surprised that Hillman doesn't seem to be getting any interest from anyone?

Packers 'poking around' FA Ronnie Hillman

According to USA Today's Tom Pelissero, the Packers have been "poking around" free agent Ronnie Hillman.

Pelissero acknowledges frugal GM Ted Thompson is "likely done" in free agency after signing Jared Cook, but Hillman could go on Green Bay's radar later in the offseason. The Packers did re-sign James Starks, and Eddie Lacy's P90X offseason regimen appears to be going smoothly. Hillman has drawn next to no free agent interest after an underwhelming 2015 campaign in Denver.

Not really. I think disappearing in the playoffs cooled off his market.

Stevan Ridley to the Lions. As hard as it was to be excited about Abdullah, i'm going to stay even further away from him now.

If the signing of Ridley adversely impacts Abdullah then he wasn't very good to begin with.

Signing is a non-factor IMO

You think so? I don't think Abdullah is an every down back, whereas Ridley is. I think Ameer's frame is too small to take that kind of workload.
