Agree with the zoots here.... Ridley will be the banger that will be the thunder to Abdullah's lightning. That said I'm not discounting Abdullah's value any based on this. Abdullah isn't an every down back.... but then again, point to more than a few situations where there IS an every-down back.

This. If the "every down back" isn't completely extinct, it's at the very least on the endangered species list. It's become a game of trying to find the guys that will get get 15 or so touches/targets consistently, and hoping you have 2 healthy ones (or whatever your lineup requires) each week. Last year was a war of attrition, and many teams limped into the playoffs with guys like Tim Hightower, Shaun Draughn, and Christine Michael in their starting lineups. In most formats, the days of trying to start as many RB's as possible are gone. Granted, there are exceptions, but that appears to be the trend in many cases.

How does that change things? Well, it depends on how you look at it. There are only a handful of teams with true "every-down" backs, and even those guys only play about 60-65% of their teams offensive snaps. So, the downside is that there are just a few guys who are on the field more than 60% of the time. The upside to that, though, is that MOST teams have multiple fantasy-relevant RB's. Guys that are in that 15-ish touch/target per game category. Not fantasy studs, per se, but adequate starters (at least at times) under the right circumstances.
