Week THIRTEEN byes?

Cleveland and Tennessee. Going to give both teams an advantage of being fresher for the playoffs... oh wait... I see what they were doing.

But for those of you playing in big money leagues, do you still grab any CLE or TEN players?

But for those of you playing in big money leagues, do you still grab Todd Gurley knowing he won't be there for one week of the fantasy playoffs?

Are you saying Gurley will be hurt come week 13? Or was he traded?

That is what happens when I post something while under heavy medication. I hate bronchitis.

It's the Jeff Fisher theorem. Tennessee, St. Louis, Los Angeles, same difference, right?

Strange for sure, byes have never been this late that I recall, think there were some in week 12 some years. But usually over even before that. Not sure why, but it could impact fantasy play, though CLE isn't expected to have much in the way of fantasy players on offense.

Another weird thing was the Colts don't get a bye after their London game, I heard they asked the NFL not to have a bye that soon, and the NFL obliged. The week off after London game has been customary before that.

I can tell you for certain - this is the only time they had Week 13 byes. And there is no Week 12 byes. I almost missed them whipping up the schedule for the site. It's like the NFL forgot about TEN and CLE and threw them in at the end.

It would be a nice time for both teams to take a break and decide who they want to look at over the next three games. Never too early to evaluate your roster for next year for TEN or CLE.

The NFL does it again. In 2014 RTS created a 12 week regular season partly because the byes were running through week 12 while in the FFPC they use an 11 week regular season and that week 12 bye was causing problems with teams being on bye for the league playoffs especially since if you were a 3 or 4 seed you had to win the FFPC championship for your league to get into the $300K tournament. Your decision was do you draft a guy on bye week 12 to get an extra game out of him in the regular season to try and help you get the 1 or 2 seed or do you by pass them so you don't get hurt with them on bye during week 12. There were some big named players 4 of the top 20 picks were week 12 bye guys in 2014. In RTS playoffs started week 13 so didn't matter.

2015 the NFL went back to week 11 as the last bye like they did back in the old days.

Now in 2016 they skip week 12 and go to week 13 the latest week byes have ever been except for the years when they had to have byes through every single week since they had an odd number of teams like 20 years ago.

So now for the FFPC it's the championship game and in RTS its the 1st round of the playoffs which is critical because in RTS if you are a 3 or 4 seed you must win your 1st round game to have a shot to win the 200K.

In 2014 FFPC I bypassed the stars that played in week 12 which hurt when Bell and Brown went bonkers that year.

The key guys early in drafts are going to be Murray, Walker and Barnidge. Guys that would be drafted to be starters. I will likely bypass these guys unless they fall to a very good value in the draft where everyone else in that tier of players is gone and I would have to dip into the next tier to take a guy over them. I don't see them being on very many of my teams as I doubt all 11 other drafters in my league are going to worry about week 13 to start the year.

I would like to see all teams have the same bye week or split the teams over a two week period. I know it won't ever happen though.

I like that idea. All teams have a bye either on Week 8 or 9.

You have to get to the playoffs before you play in the playoffs . . so say some. Previous Post has a lot of street cred however. Agree that if owner fears drive Walker , Barnidge and Murray down boards I will likely grab the value. I don't feel my team will lose due to one of these players being on the bye that week. I would say I for sure don't want 2 of these 3 on the same team.

For what it's worth - I think most would agree all three will underperform for the draft pick they are selected at or the auction cost.
