The National Fantasy Football Convention has announced that the event will be held on July 15-17 at the Pasadena Convention Center. More than 100 players already are scheduled to participate, including Romo (duh), Jay Ajayi, Geno Atkins, Giovani Bernard,Eric Berry, Dez Bryant, Jamaal Charles, Randall Cobb, Andre Ellington,Devonta Freeman, Todd Gurley, Jeremy Hill, Carlos Hyde, Chris Ivory, David Johnson, Julio Jones, Travis Kelce, Eddie Lacy, Jeremy Maclin, Doug Martin, Josh Norman, Carson Palmer, Jordan Reed, Allen Robinson, Alex Smith, Tyrod Taylor, Julius Thomas, Jason Witten, and Kendall Wright. “I’m thrilled to be able to host this groundbreaking sports experience to life, bringing fans closer to the game they love”, Romo said in a press release announcing the event. He would have been even more thrilled if the NFL hadn’t forced the cancellation of the event a year ago by balking at the fact that the convention was going to be held in Las Vegas at property owned by a casino. Not at a casino, at property simply ownedby a casino. Meanwhile, the NFL currently is embracing the possibility of moving the Raiders to Las Vegas, where they would play in a stadium built by the same casino that owns the convention hall that got Romo’s convention run out of town. The fact that this position is: (1) ridiculously over-the-top hypocritical; and (2) no one seems to be freaking out about it shows just how low the bar currently is when it comes to public expectations that the NFL won’t do hypocritical things. Can't ask for a better way to start the season. I get to go to the Dallas vs. SF game too. This is going to be a great year for Cowboys fans. Now if we can just get E squared or Ramsey I will be stoked. Not sold on Bosa but I have a feeling if Ramsey is gone we go with Bosa. Either way, we get a great football player at 4 which sets us up for a serious run at the SB this year. Can't wait. As far as the Raiders in Vegas, you couldn't have match a team better with sin city than the Raiders.
