Dez or Lamar

I am in a 3 keeper league. First two keepers are Julio Jones and Todd Gurley. Trying to decide on Dez Bryant or Lamar Miller for final spot?

Miller is way the safer pick. Between Dez's health and the inevitable Romo surgery Dez more risk than Miller who will be the bell cow for that offense, with Blue backing him up. Plus, Miller can catch the ball too. Dez, at his best, would be a top 5 player, well ahead of Miller... I just think he and Romo both present an inordinate injury risk above and beyond normal.

the other question, which I think is really important here, is how thin the RB and WR draft pools are due to 30 or more keepers? Which position is thinner? I play in 4-keeper leagues, and both pools are very thin, but there are way more viable candidates for WR 3 and 4 than there are for RB 3 & 4. If that's the case in your league, then try to trade Dez for picks and keep Miller along with Gurley and Jones. (Great set of Keepers!)

I wish I could trade him but my league does not allow trades till after draft. In my league it's alot deeper for WR than RB and I won the league last year and pick last so will miss out on Elliot or any of the top backs available

Lamar Miller. Dez is also tied to fragile Tony Romo. AND we've seen what Dallas looks like when Romo goes down.

In the 4 years prior to last year's collarbone injury, Romo only missed 2 games out of 64.

No just 2 receivers played. Still up I the air but have time to decide. See what the preseason brings

If it is only 2 receivers to play each week than I would keep Lamar Miller as a solid #2 RB.

Miller will be a bust, take Dez Bryant anyway--you can not ignore his talent on any given play no matter what--total game changer. Miller? Not a game changer and Houston has a carousel of injuries for whatever reasons through the years at the RB position. It's just like the backfield in Cleveland, entirely unreliable and always inconsistent, always 3 running backs cycled every game. If you consider Bryant a gamble, I consider him a safe gamble regardless of Romo being 180 years old dating Hillary.

I personally would go Miller. I believe in him and I would not be willing to bet my fantasy season on Dez not getting injured or Romo not getting injured. Dez isnt as effective with Romo out, so having to worry about two injury prone players scares me. I am very risk adverse!

On Miller, I think the way he was used last season in Miami, at least for the first half of the season will have kept in fresher. I like him this season, think he is going slightly too high but not by much. Potentially top 5-8 RB. Or gamble on two injury prone guys.

Miller please

Starting to get ridiculous around here....someone explain to me how Romo and Dez are injury prone? Cause they were hurt last season? That all it takes to become injury prone now?

Again -

In the 4 years prior to last year's collarbone injury, Romo only missed 2 games out of 64.

And for good measure -

In the 4 years prior to last year's fractured foot injury, Dez only missed 1 game out of 64.

You really have a nice problem here. I'd lean Dez here mainly because he is a proven guy in a situation that is familiar in Dallas (no competition for passes really). Miller enters a new situation entirely, and this after he somehow took a long time to separate himself from his competition in Miami. The other reason for taking Dez is that it is usually easier to find productive RBs on the waiver wire or even later in drafts. It's a lot more rare for a starting level WR2 or better to emerge from mid round drafts.

And I agree with those questioning the injury prone label, if only because there is no way to predict injury. Well, unless we're talking about Dennis Pitta maybe...

This is close enough where it probably is personal preference more than anything. Do you prefer to keep two stud WRs or RBs?

Miller is definitely trending up. Start of offseason I did some mocks and he was going in the fourth and now he is gone in the first and Dez is usually an early 2nd rounder. Millers situation in Houston could be a goldmine fantasy wise. Alot more depth for wide receivers left unkept in my league
