South Louisiana Flooding - Help D3's MIL rebuild!

Hello Huddlers,

With DMD's permission I am posting this in the main forum since our old friend The Tailgate doesn't really get much traffic these days.

My wife was born and raised outside Baton Rouge and as you all must have heard, the region got hit hard with rain over the past couple of weeks. They got more rain in four days than the Los Angeles area got in four years!

Without warning this past Sunday morning, my mother-in-law and her husband were forced to evacuate their house in Prairieville, a small town east of Baton Rouge. They went to bed Saturday night with absolutely no threat of flooding. They grabbed a few essentials, the dog, and got out before their house was flooded with 4+ feet of water.

Insurance covers structural damage to the house, but they've essentially lost everything.

I would not be posting this unless it was a dire situation. We've set up a GoFundMe to try and help them out. My MIL and wife's stepdad are wonderful, giving people who have been an integral part of their community. I ask that you consider helping out if you are able.

Thank you in advance!

Sent a small donation over and hope everything works out for them.

Got some great memories of the small amount of time I spent in Baton Rouge watching the Ags and I'd been meaning to make a donation towards cause for the past few days.

Received, with thanks.

Thanks everyone. The MIL is absolutely blown away that strangers, friends of friends, you name it... are coming out of the woodwork to help out. Hell, she had no idea what GoFundMe was.... then again, she's had like 8 hacked Facebook accounts and still uses AOL.

In all seriousness, thank you so much. Really do appreciate it.
