gilthorp
Where is he going in your drafts? I have a chance to keep him as a 9th rounder. Is he going in the top 25 RB's?
HowboutthemCowboys
I went zero RB in a 16 BOTH that is ongoing. I didn't really plan to, it just worked out that way. I wasn't targeting him at all..missed a few rbs that I wanted by a pick or 3. I took him as my 1st RB at 6:06 last night. I'm not thrilled 31st rb off the board if I counted correctly Edited August 26, 2016 by HowboutthemCowboys
HowboutthemCowboys
And you should post more. I miss the old huddle board
gilthorp
Thanks bud. 31 is not going to be a favorable spot for me. I thought he got better as the year went on in his rookie season, which bodes well. I view him as a deep sleeper with little chance of a sophomore slump and could be a top 15-20 guy. What do you say DMD?

Id be thrilled with where I got him if Riddick didn't get so many passes thrown his way.Fwiw Ridley was cut yesterday

He went 30th in a very good BoTH 14 tm lg. today. In that draft I see 3 RB's that were picked before him that could go either way, JStew, DWill, D. Henry(Henry was me:), putting him RB27-30. RB's picked immediately with him (same round/'value') were Foster, Crowell, Jennings, M Jones. Edit To say Abdulla, Foster, Crowell etc went 6th rnd, so 7th rnd 12 tm lg.. Shaft
In a 16 team BoTH he went as the 86th pick. 26th RB. Running back wie, Gordon was before and Matt Jones was behind him. In another 16 team BoTH he was the 86th pick AGAIN. 31st RB. Matt Jones was before him and Jennings was behind him. I will say he is probably the only guy after 30th that has a chance for a big surprise year. Had 4.7 YPC after Jim Bob Cooter took over last year and they want to use him more. I've taken him on several teams as an RB3 type.

darin3
What are your other options? I like Abdullah but ehhh...
gilthorp
Maybe Eifert as a 7th or Hyde as a 2nd.
HowboutthemCowboys
Looked good on a td run today that was called back for a hold. Trucked a defender pretty good on another run too
doobwaa
decent value for the 9th round id say .... cant imagine many others who would have his ceiling in that area
darin3
gil is this a 12 teamer? 16? If 12 or 16, I'd keep Abdullah as a 9th over Hyde (2nd) or Eifert (who we don't even know when will be back, as a 7th) His ADP is right around 90 and that's about where he should go. Brentastic
I drafted Abdullah last night at 8.10. This was a high stakes league, the rt sports Fantasy Championship. I was ecstatic with that value. I'm relatively high on Abdullah this year. The only thing that worries me is the DET O line. If given the carries, I trust Abdullah will produce as a top 15 RB. I drafted him as my RB4 last night as I went RB heavy.
gilthorp
14 teams, and the more I look at my options the instinct is a 9th round RB starter is the way to go. However, I just have to determine if hE is being drafted as the 25th RB off the board, who are the others that would be there. When I look at this, I don't see the type of upside I do with Abdullah. Basically other options end up being Gore, Jennings, Stewart types.
millworkguy
He went 30th in a very good BoTH 14 tm lg. today. I took Jstew(pick 74) here over abdullah (pick 79), as i'd rather draft t riddick (or c sims) a few rounds later, both of whom where snipped between my 7.11(pick 95) and 8.05 (pick 102) (again 14 team) when i had a brain fart and went qb (@ 7.11) during a family road trip while stopped for diner. Henry was a nice pick in the middle of those two as well (@ 98)
Big Country
FWIW, I think Abdullah for a 9th rounder, given your other options, is a pretty good value. While I'd prefer it if Riddick didn't get so many throws his way, I still think getting what should be a primary back in the 9th round is good value, even if the situation is not great. Of course, if it was, his ADP would be a lot higher and you'd be looking at that 9th rounder for him as a no brainer.
darin3
Yeah, what BC said. 9th in a 14 teamer is good. Do it.
ffgreg
Took him last night in my 14 team ppr as the 29th RB off the board and my RB3. I like him quite a bit though. I think he has a great season. Joe Holka wrote a great piece on why he takes a step forward.
gilthorp
Just read the Holka piece - strong arguments, but still risk. Makes it seem like he should be going earlier than I would get him and I'm sure he might get snapped up. Keeping him in the 9th for sure now.
