Elywood49
I offered a trade to a team in my league who got screwed by autodraft - he was on vacation. He only got 2 Running Backs - LeVeon Bell and Devonte Freeman. I offered him Jeremy Hill and DeAngelo Williams for Freeman which he accepted. Does this trade seem lopsided enough that a veto was warranted. I thought it was a good deal for both teams.
wist43
That trade should not have been vetoed... he gets the valuable backup to the best RB in FF, and Hill isn't that much of a drop off from Freeman. Everyone is focusing on Freeman's 1st half last year... it was a fluke. Look at his career, and look at the last 8 games from last year. He's small, and can't carry the same load he did last year, which means he'll see quite a bit fewer touches. Freeman is being drastically overvalued. Def.
The trade is fine, but that's what happens when you play in veto leagues.

anismith
Yeah, this trade seems fair enough to me. Based on ADP it's lopsided, but Freeman is way overhyped.

BrooklynKid
You never ask about trades being vetoed on here... To most people here no trade should be vetoed ever. I could see why they blocked it. Jeremy Hill basically splits carries with Bernard and Williams will become a back up in 3 weeks.. Do I think Freeman produces what he did last year? No. But if other teams are taking measures on making sure you don't get him then what can you do? The dude with Bell and Freeman can get equal or more value to Williams in about 2 weeks on the waiver wire.

XFlash
should not have been traded. (edit: should not have been Vetoed) If you needed to plead your case, take Freeman's 1st have stats and 2nd half stats, along with 1st year player and already stated split with Coleman. Plus he is getting additional RB depth. It is always the ones who are scared to trade that call foul when someone else actually does what they were thinking Edited August 30, 2016 by XFlash

ffgreg
Was it a league vote or a commish veto? Seems absurd to me.
ImNotSoIgnorant
trading him a back RB that won't be starting after Bell's suspension and a poorly performing RB FFB started for one of the top ranked 1RB is not ok at all. I would have major reservations against it unless the person agreeing to the trade is experienced. Taking advantage of an inexperienced player is not ok. So now trades are dependent upon how you judge the other person's experience? You know what, just going to back away from this thread as these always tread in the same direction...

Wow, how magnanimous of you to intervene on behalf of such dimwitted players who are not qualified to run a fantasy team! All hail you, protector of the fish!

If you agree to play in a league where the owners have the right to veto your trades you're going to have perfectly fine trades vetoed. It should be expected. Play in leagues where you trust each other and have a system (usually an honest and fair commish) who has some sort of veto power to stop the truly outrageous. I've been the co-commish with a friend in my long time local league and we have NEVER stopped a trade from going through (other than 1-2 mistakes where an owner accidentally clicked accept then notified us, or the accept included comment text "no way but how about this...") stevegrab
Whoever is the commish should be ashamed of themselves for allowing that to be vetoed. Why? What do you know about the commish, or the veto process in this league. Maybe the owners playing in the league and voting to veto the trade should be ashamed. BrooklynKid
Why should your opinion overrule the guys who actually run the teams? What do you mean? I told the guy it's pretty pointless to ask about vetoed deals on here because everyone goes bat manure crazy about "collusion"... then I gave my input on why they did veto the trade in his league....... Elywood49
OK fellas (ladies?) thanks for the feedback. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. I'm a commish (not in this league) and have been since the late 80's. I would never have let the veto stand. I think the bottom line for me is that you have to believe your other owners have integrity - if they prove that they don't then you ask them to leave. By the way this 12 man league only requires 4 votes to veto - shame on me for not thinking it would ever be an issue.
