ESPN Fantasy - custom wild cards?

Hey guys,

Have a 10 team league at ESPN.

We have two divisions, and playoff wise we want to have the top two teams from each division to the playoffs. Also the 5th and 6th team (regardless of division) should go through to the wild card round and meet the 3rd and 4th team while 1st and 2nd are on Bye.

Thing is, I am not sure how I can make this happen in the ESPN Setup.. I can only choose just to have 6 teams go through, but i am not sure if that ensures that the top two teams go through,or it will choose the overall best across the the divisions.

Any help would be much appreciated!

We've done it exactly how you wish to in our ESPN hosted custom for years... I don't remember if it does it automatically for us or if there are years we have to input it manually once playoffs hit, but it definitely can be done.

Just make sure the everyone knows the format ahead of time so if it does need to be tweaked when the playoffs hit nobody can claim shenanigans.

I've always hated this. I push for overall records, one division always ends up top heavy and the other is full of .500 teams. If I'm missing out on money because one team had a worse record and played easier competition, then I question returning next year.
