Edelman to play QB this Thursday night?...at least as back-up.

The Patriots "have done extensive preparation" this week to prepare Julian Edelman as the backup quarterback for Week 3 against the Texans.

If Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) can't play, rookie Jacoby Brissett will get the start Thursday night. With no other quarterback on the roster, Edelman is the next best thing after he played quarterback in college at Kent State. There have even been some whispers Edelman could have a package of plays for him at quarterback this week. With passing stats as a potential bonus, Edelman is a must-start in fantasy this week. He threw a 51-yard touchdown to Danny Amendola in the 2014 playoffs. ~ Ian Rapoport on Twitter

Ok so will his snap count be limited at WR if he is the backup qb? And would he get pts for pass yards if he is only recognized as a WR ?

Why not? If he ran an option pass he would get passing stats. If he lines up and plays QB he should get points for that as well. Unless your scoring system explicitly states he wouldn't.

I'd say he SHOULD get those points, but it depends on your league setup. Do WR usually get points for passing yards/TDs? Our league awards all offensive players points using he same values.
