windham9
While some teams will designate a player that wont be playing out on a Tuesday or Wednesday, like Martin, Peterson even Corey Coleman, other teams will always make you wait till Friday. 'Doubtful' on Foster & Stewart is a joke, those dudes ain't playing this week and missing more weeks. C'mon Miami/Carolina give those dudes an O. stevegrab
What is the big deal waiting for Friday? If a guy like Foster/Stewart is so certain to be out and team says questionable then plan for out. Add a backup if you need it and change your line-up. Are teams not allowed to say out on Tue/Wed then questionable on Friday? Is any injury report with OUT during the week mean the player cannot be on the active roster? If not then what's the difference, they could say out on T/W then screw you over and list him as questionable and they're active for their game. The point of the IR is to free up the roster spot so a replacement can be sought. When you can't IR the player because they have been designated at an injury level below the threshold, you either have to drop viable players or wait till its corrected potentially missing out on all the hot pickups. I understand NFL franchises play these games with the designation for a reason and am perfectly fine with it, but I also understand the frustration it causes to those managing their fantasy teams in IR leagues. Its one of the reason I favor not having an IR system in all redraft leagues, and even some keeper league setups. Never used them and would think one that allows player movement based on being listed as out on the injury report is tough to handle. (Versuse players actually needed to be on IR. We've discussed them but those issues have been one of the reasons we avoid them, our rosters are big enough and we no limits by position to allow stashing guys if you really want them [keeper league].) windham9
Stewart is for sure out, but by Friday when they will give him the O , most replacements are gone, and no option of any Thur night player.
loaf
been an issue ever since Thursday night was added...nothing the services can do because they have to wait on the NFL team
Def.
I'd recommend setting the IR threshold down to Questionable, and impose a minimum amount of time the person spends on IR if placed there. Also once the player is healed and past the minimum amount of time, starting lineup submissions are disabled until the player is either activated or dropped. Its almost like baseball's 15 day DL rule. That way owners will think before using IR and not try to exploit it for extra roster spots. At least in a $ league anyways, if a free league then no IR what so ever is best.
loaf
Yahoo doesn't allow you to pick and choose which designations you can use.
windham9
Yahoo doesn't allow you to pick and choose which designations you can use. Neither does espn, be pretty cool if D was IR eligible. We need the geeks to make the tweaks for 2017

We need the geeks to make the tweaks for 2017 Or move to a better league management site, maybe one that even costs some $$ like MFL. Or get rid of IR slots if they are such a pain, add one more roster spot, or make rosters less restrictive (no limits by position).
Def.
Guh sorry, my IR eligible sites are on MFL and CBS. I know MFL allows varying setups, and was able to place a questionable on IR on CBS so there must be some type of settings (not commish, but I still wouldn't recommend them for use over any other management site). Had a guy put his Defense on IR cause its star player got hurt, had to literally create a rule against that. We booted the guy out of the league after a long list of shady management actions. Not being sarcastic I've never heard that expression before? Would that be like a week 5 lineup being entered today?

I told them there's limitations to Yahoo but they all used it and didn't care. Now I'm fielding questions about how to put someone on IR. I said you have to wait now...

stevegrab
yes, yahoo has it already. ESPN has it for baseball & basketball, but not football Would seem to make more sense for sports that have games daily, especially baseball where I assume pitchers are part of the line-up and you have different guys starting each night. I've heard some sites make you reset or copy your line-up every week instead of just leaving the same starting line-up in place. That seems odd, since my starters are mostly the same.
