Montana is da Man
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2668246-christian-ponder-reportedly-has-support-to-replace-blaine-gabbert-as-49ers-qb I guess it can't get much worse than what we've seen from their offense so far, except for Carlos Hyde BR is also reporting that Kaepernick will likely start week 6 for the 49ers

Montana is da Man
I don't think it'll matter who starts for them. They're going to suck no matter what
Shaft
A lot of this is in the coaching.
Montana is da Man
I completely and utterly blame the GM and owner. I'm sure Jim Harbaugh is not the easiest person to be around, but all he did while coaching their team was win. He transformed Alex Smith into a viable starting QB and then helped Kaepernick become one too. There was no reason to basically force him to leave. That is what killed this franchise.

flemingd
A lot of this is in the coaching. As a multiple-league Hyde owner, I respectfully ask you to pound sand.
Bier Meister
they are starting to restructure Kaep's contract, which has been a roadblock to his playing time due to his injury clause. Once that is settled, he will likely see the field.
slambo
It's hilarious to watch baby York do his teeth grinding press conferences. He's got this ..."I can to run a football team".. pissed off kids attitude. Edited October 8, 2016 by slambo

Once that is settled, he will likely see the field. Supposedly it will give him the option to leave after this season. So it's back to Gabbert or whichever QB they draft next year. Zooty
A lot of this is in the coaching. Impossible. He had one of the top offenses with crap talent. The man is a genius

Montana is da Man
don't worry, Chip will trade him in the off-season Sounds about right. Chip Kelly won't last more than 2 years as couch of the niners.
flemingd
don't worry, Chip will trade him in the off-season That might not be so bad either. Raiders, Jets, Panthers, there are a bunch of teams with crap RB talent.
Montana is da Man
He's the only offensive player that's succeeding in SF, they better not trade him!

tebby
I don't think it affects Hyde much tbh, plays called for the run will still be run. Kaep usually only runs on pass plays. I think Kerley is the biggest loser. Edited October 11, 2016 by tebby
Def.
I also don't see Krapernick lasting long, specially if the weight loss due to his new lifestyle is anywhere close to reported levels.
heehawks
Anybody have any thoughts on how the switch to Kaep might affect the receivers? Gabbert seemed pretty locked into Kerley, who has been a nice help over the first 1/3 of the season. More deep throws to T.Smith? TE more or less involved? Or is it going to be status quo and continue to be a shiat show? Edited October 11, 2016 by heehawks

lexbaylor27
Would a QB change make Torrey Smith worth holding onto? I haven't seen much of anything from him so far.
loaf
Hyde is all they have and Kelly knows it. Fortuitous for us Hyde owners that he's sticking with the run game
