Michael Floyd

What does everyone think of Michael Floyd rest of season? He is still ranked at #26 in the rest of season rankings. This confuses me because he sucks and I want to drop him. Is his upside too high to drop? Is he the clear #3 WR on arizona behind Brown? Even the #4 & #5 WRs on arizona could cut into his snap count. So what is a Floyd owner to do? Hold, trade, or drop?

I dropped him in one league for S.Coates. May regret it, but needed way more consistency at my WR 2 and 3 spots. Too difficult trying to decide when he has a good game and getting killed when he has poo games when I do start him.

I drafted him expecting him to once again be Palmer's deep ball target if he was healthy but he hasn't been that or anything else so far so I dropped him in one league for Kerley. I'd rather have a guy who's getting a lot of targets on a team that should be playing catchup a lot. More and more I realize that the Matt Stafford principle applies in fantasy football - garbage time points count.

I strongly suggest people who use the Huddle ROS rankings start looking at more sources, Floyd has been #26 every week, not sure why but as was discussed in the thread about those ranking I just don't think they're moving players much.

Eli manning is another one I find baffling, if I look at scoring in my league (all QBs would be affected same no matter scoring) he is # 29th and has scored 50 points in 5 weeks (21,6,11,4,8) the top 5 have scored 89, 90, 97, 110, 116, or about twice that of Eli.

Eli was ranked 6 every week so far, no change. By comparison Cam Newton was ranked #1 in week 2-5 and is not at #5, he is 10th in scoring.

I guess they just feel that Eli is going to greatly improve and hold his #6 value. Or that his low scoring doesn't warrant any kind of downgrade at all. Very disappointing.

Not really a fan of the ROS articles this year. There seems to be no effort to accurately rank guys.

Regrettably this is a +1 for me - I haven't used ROS in a couple weeks and that has not been the case in prior seasons.

To your Floyd question I would try and trade him for sure but you won't get back what you invested in the draft. If there are better waiver prospects then an outright drop is not unreasonable. I don't own him but I would've swapped him for Coates in a second.

If you could trade him, that would be option #1, his value based on performance is low, but you might find a taker that thinks he will rebound. He has dropped key passes every week, many of them on third downs that impacted the game. I would bet he is on a very short leash and unless he fixes his "drops" issue, his targets and productivity will go down.

Other thought is Palmer is always one hit from being out and all/most WR's stock goes down with Stanton under center.

I dropped Floyd in multiple leagues this week for Sammie and Meredith. I just do not think he is up for as much potential as those I picked up. Also another person here who has troubles with the ROS rankings not sure they are spending much time on them, but the weekly rankings seem to be doing well.

I traded for Floyd in my dynasty league. He is a UFA next year and I hope he continues to poop the bed so the Cardinals let him go. Hopefully he can start new somewhere else where they need a bona fide #1 WR (coughpatriotscough)

Why doesn't DMD do ROS rankings? He is already doing a projection for every player every week. Re-ranking the players each week for ROS would take like 30 minutes.

I think it is a bit more complex than that, the ROS takes into acount the rest of the season the matchups, etc. But yes they were better when DMD did them, seems the new guy doesn't want to make too many changes from DMD's initial rank, even said that in the comments in the thread discussing it. With some guys like it is a glaring ommission that makes them nearly useless. When I'm deciding who to keep or get rid of I use it a lot, but that will stop.

Sadly I think the focus on DFS and whatever else the Huddle staff is working on has them focusing less on features many regulars liked.

PS I might grab some of these posts and put them in the ROS ranking discussion, maybe we get some more attention to it.

You forgot the sideline camera man and the water boy. They should be at 58 & 59, then Floyd. :bag:

The problem isn't Floyd so much as it's:

1) The Cardinals becoming a run-first team through David Johnson (who is having a heck of a season so far).

2) Carson Palmer being over the hill - he just isn't that good any more.

3) Fewer shots downfield (maybe related to the above point about Palmer), meaning the possession / underneath routes are king in this offense (gobbled up by Fitzgerald and Johnson).

I know this is a Floyd thread, but I don't see a reason for ANY receiver not named Larry to be rostered in a 12-team league.

John Brown been getting a healthy amount of targets lately. He should be rostered in a 12.

There is always the chance a pass will be deflected back to Palmer for some positive yards and possible TD.
