it's the coach imo not the QB

lynch looked pretty meh last week. siemian looked very solid against the bengals, and they're not a pushover defense

And the Chargers are not an elite defense, somethign was up and I agree it was the playcalling, or game plan.

After a nights sleep to cool down I have to say I believe it was Kubiaks absence that made the difference, not Siemian (completely). I just think a short week is already a challenge for players and to get the game plan installed, much less doing it with an assistant coach.

That being said I refuse to let the defense off the hook for allowing the chargers first two drives to last for 17 minutes. It kept the offense in a funk on the bench and took the aggression right out of the defense which is the main thing Denver won off of last year.

not elite, but personnel wise, they've filled out a pretty good depth chart imo (before injuries anyway). but damn, who is that jatavis brown guy? he looked like a monster!

Meh, this dud from Siemian was the perfect storm of:

  • Thursday night game, meaning less time to prepare and generally poorer games
  • Kubiak being in the hospital - not around all week to prep or game plan, not at the game making decisions
  • McCoy and the Chargers desperate for a win
  • Road game in the division - these are always tough no matter what

I'm not making any judgments about Siemian's development as a QB from this game. Throw away the game film and prepare for the Texans. Hopefully Kubiak is ok.
