tdybaz
I've seen a couple of rumors, but has anyone read or heard anything that might substantiate an increase in DeAngelo Williams' playtime since Big Ben is out? Presumably the Steelers would just pound the football with both Bell and Williams, but since Bell can essentially play WR too, they'll give him a breather and give the rock to Williams as well to keep the ball away from the Pats and keep their QB from throwing INTs. Are these just rumors I've heard, or has anyone else seen anything? Thanks
michaelredd9
Bill Belichick, more than any other coach, has his defense key on the opposing offense's strength. His strategy against the Steelers will be to focus on stopping the run and dare Landry Jones to throw the ball.
stevegrab
Interesting theory but that's probably all it is. Take those reports (even from coaches) with a large chunk of salt, as they're rarely based on fact and more about misleading or just speculation. Neither site I use for projections (Huddle and another) show any significant yardage for DWill. I own him and love what he did for me in weeks 1 & 2, but then he went cold, then Bell returned and he's now just a bench guy unless Bell is out again. I tried to see if the Bell owner was interested in a trade, they weren't so I continue to hold him. I also agree with michaelredd9, if PIT tries to run him a lot he probably won't be successful as NE will shut that down.
tdybaz
I own both Bell and Williams (surprised the Bell owner didn't want to trade for Williams as he saved my butt last year), and have seen a couple of fantasy shows on NFLN talk about how Williams will probably see the ball a lot. I know all about Belichick's tendency to take away the best thing opposing teams do well, or like to do, and this week's is fairly obvious with Big Ben's absence: The Steelers will try to run the ball. I wasn't wondering how well they'll do, I was just seeing if anyone else had heard anything about Williams possibly getting more work than normal this week. RBs are a previous commodity in fantasy, as you all well know, and if a normal bench warmer (Williams) might be getting more touches in a fairly prolific offense, I wanted to take advantage of it. Just keep in mind that prolific offense will be far less prolific without Ben. So while DWill might see more action, the results may not be much better than what he's done since Bell came back. As for the Bell owner in my league, I didn't try to trade that hard (one msg thru site he may have not seen it), it was after Bell came back and I was trying to target a RB he has who was backup to Latavius Murray. michaelredd9
In the 2 games Landry Jones started last year, Le'Veon had 41 carries for 209 yards, 4 catches for 16 yards and zero touchdowns. DeAngelo had 5 carries for 8 yards, 1 catch for 8 yards, and zero touchdowns.

Montana is da Man
He should be checking down to Bell 10 times a game, especially when they are down 28 at the half this week Edited October 19, 2016 by Montana is da Man
