Who does Sherman cover?

He will rarely cover a WR lining up on the inside.

Over the last season or so, Seattle will often focus his coverage on another teams #1 WR, assuming the #1 stays flanked out of the slot. This is most notably the case on clear cut #1 WRs. A lot of times an elite WR, but often just the oppositions best WR, if said best is better enough relative to the remaining WRs.

Sometimes they don't care about who is covering who and he may cover one side all game long.

My gut feel is they may put him on Cooks but that feel could be wrong. Sorry for the useless information.

He usually covers the left side, but has followed wrs at times. He followed antonio brown and dez bryant last year. There was a big hubbub made week 1 about sherman vs landry, but they only threw the ball in sherman's direction one time, while landry had 7 catches for 59 yards.

The saints WRs line up all over the place. Cooks' TD last week came on a route out of the backfield.

I'd guess Thomas will probably see more Sherman than Cooks will, but your guess is as good as mine really.

He also followed Brandon Marshall and Julio Jones earlier this year who both had decent games. At some point, because Seattle often plays zone, he'll likely still fall off a WR and roll him to a safety.

Actually I just happened to read that Michael Thomas has taken 90% of his snaps on the outside, Snead plays something like 75% in the slot, and Cooks is pretty much all over. So that's pretty much the most you can go off of I think.
