the outlaw
LOVE Aretha - much R-E-S-P-E-C-T, but I was NOT a fan of that rendition of the Anthem...

skylive5
Roseanne Barr I didn't see Barr so I can't comment on that. However, Aretha flat out ruined the Anthem. I had to turn the station..... waited what I felt was a decent time so could see the kickoff.... and she is still singing. If you could call that singing. Forty years ago she was okay....now.... not so much. Worst I have ever heard. Bar none.
HowboutthemCowboys
It's one song that is best sung as it was written. Not sure why people have to sing "their version". On a better note, I really enjoyed the trumpet before the Dallas game

PPIchamp
I wonder how Krapernick solves the cognitive dissonance inside his feeble mind seeing Aretha, who actually did grow up in difficult social times for African Americans, sign the Anthem with such love, heart and soul. MothAudio
You guys really don't get it. Why would the promoters go through the effort / expense of bringing in talent and then ask them to sing a vanilla version of Kate Smith. I think people want the artist to put their personal spin on their performance. Why else have them there? I would think people want to hear a heartfelt rendition and that's what Aretha did - she owned it.
